Beautiful resort, had the jungle on one side and the beach on the other. The staff was amazing, so attentive and friendly. Food was good but definitely could use more options. The biggest issue we had was with kids at the pool bar. I feel this is one area kids shouldn’t be allowed to hang out.

Expedia markets this as an all inclusive but upon arriving at the property they limit you to the buffet. Construction had our room reeking of paint thinner. Worst All Inclusive experience ever.

Our stay at Barcelo was very good! We felt safe, valued and important. We love how attentive the staff were. The kids club was also unforgettable. Leticia is natural with the kids. Our most favourite part is how the beach was so convenient and accessible. We highly recommend Barcelo.

Great adult pool. Buffet was ok.sushi Kyoto Resturant was awful. Los Arcos resturant and Don Quixote were both special. Great staff. Helpful. Fine room service but language barrier was tough for us English speaking only people. One of the two elevators was not working and sometimes there was a little wait. I’m sure the bar was fun for late evening drinkers but the noise bothered us even on the 9th floor. Our bedroom a/c was not working but the room temp wasn’t to bad with the fan on . Room 1906. We never called or complained. Kayak use was fun. Nice to have a pool just for adults.

The property is more of a 3 star at best. There servers do their best but a la carte restaurants are not good at all. We were a large group 20 and it’s frustrating to not be able to eat together ( restaurant has rule of 6 max at table) even buffet! I wouldn’t go back.

Youre 45min from downtown. Be mindful of finding roaches in your room. When notifying staff they said you only saw 1? Reply isnt 1 too many? They sprayed room. No other issues. It was nice but honestly wasnt luxurious

The food was the worst I’ve ever had on a vacation. The hotel was run down, dirty and lacked a lot property maintenance. The AC didn’t work, not only in my room but friends room as well. First night there was a blood stain on my sheets then room service failed to clean my room a few times. The locals on beach at the shops were completely tired of tourist and were over priced on all the terrible food. Only one slide w small pool for kids. Everytime we called concierge, no one spoke English. I will not be returning.
