Leaf peeping getaway
We had a nice stay here for a quick leaf peeping getaway. The house is very centrally located near Brattleboro, Putney, and Newfane and the towns had various festivals going over the weekend. The house is situated on a winding dirt road which was a lovely drive in and of itself. Beautiful grounds and lots of hiking nearby. The host was responsive and friendly. As someone else mentioned there is another rental on the property so we did hear/see other guests while we were here. I wish we had time to light a fire in the wood stoves or in the fire pit but the heat worked great. So many stars at night! It’s rustic and eclectic and that means the shower stalls are tiny but there is a cool tin tub, there is no dishwasher but an awesome dish drain cabinet above the sink, a really cool wood and marble kitchen counter you can just imagine pies being rolled out on, etc. Not for those who want sleek and modern!

The house was clean on the inside and had some great charm to it. The exposed wood on the ceiling was lovely and outside was picturesque. Location was definitely rural and I recommend a truck to access the driveway. Putney is a cute town with easy access to downtown Brattleboro However, the house would be a good place to stay, except the house is filled with religious statues, tokens, pictures, etc. The religious decorations are over the top and off-putting. I felt uncomfortable as every room had some Hindu religious artifact on the wall or as a decoration. It was hard to relax. If the house could be more neutral, it would be a nicer place to stay.

A quick evening
We booked this last minute for a short ski weekend. The house was located about 44 minutes from Mt. Snow. It was very spacious and cozy, and the rooms were comfortable with plenty of space. We thought the internet worked well. We had a very warm weekend from a weather standpoint, but if there would have been a new snowfall, it would have been a bit tough to get to the house. I think it would be difficult to book well in advance and not know the weather. The communication between the owner was exceptional! Overall, we loved the place and would consider staying again, if the weather allowed.

We enjoyed the quietness and being away from the city! It was nice to get away.
The property is as described online. It’s a nice get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed the fireplace and quietness.

Birders paradise
A very charming antique home in an excellent location, with lots of hiking trails nearby. Just a short, picturesque drive down the mountain to the town of Putney. The grounds around this property are absolutely beautiful, we spent most of our time on the deck watching birds and just enjoying the nature in general. One thing of note, however..though this property is on 10 acres, in a very private location, we were surprised to find another vacation rental just steps from our front door. A group of four checked in the day after we arrived. The yard is large enough to share, but our goal for this trip was to be alone in nature, I guess I should have asked ahead if there were other rentals on the property. This would be a great property for families to share. The home could use a comfortable Queen bed, otherwise we loved the furnishings and antiques.

Secret Mountain Hideaway
Maria’s place is a real find and perfect for a quiet contemplative stay. Located just outside of Putney at the end of several gravel roads, this mountain cabin has an eclectic mix of antiques and art. The beds were comfortable and drinking your morning coffee on the deck gives you a peaceful connection with nature. Communication with Maria was excellent as we received timely responses to questions. The only problem was that the internet was spotty due to the relatively remote location. This is a very special and unique place.
