Extremely Disappointing Stay – Unsafe and Inappropriate
I would not recommend this property to anyone, especially families with children. From the moment we arrived, we encountered multiple serious issues that made our stay uncomfortable, frustrating, and downright unsafe.There were sexually explicit abstract paintings displayed in the kitchen and bedroom—completely inappropriate in a family rental. In the primary bedroom, an anchor was installed in the ceiling, clearly intended for a swing. To make matters worse, there was a bottle of personal lubricant left in the main bathroom. It felt more like an adult-themed rental than a vacation home, which was never disclosed.The primary bathroom had no door and parts of the flooring were missing, as if it was mid-renovation. During our first night, the lights in the bedroom would turn on at random, waking our infant multiple times.On the second day, the front door lock stopped working entirely. I reached out through the VRBO app and texted the host, but received no response until the next morning. Oddly, the lock started working again—but later that day failed again, locking us out. The host's solution? Telling us to climb in through an unlocked window. We then had to leave the door unlocked anytime we left the house, just to get back in.We were told someone would come to inspect the lock and lights, but no one ever did.This was a completely unprofessional experience that felt neither safe nor appropriate. VRBO should seriously reconsider listing this property.
