The hotel has no electricity when we arrived at night and no backup power at the hotel. Had to use stairs to go to room on 3rd Fl with our big luggages. Not emergency light as well in the room. Contacted the customer service via text message but no answer

Our stay at the Alva Hotel was perfect. We liked the self-service feature - we found it very easy. The hotel was very clean, easy to access, and easy to grab a scooter and scoot into the centre or marina. We also loved that it was super quiet - and the beds were very comfortable. The room was a good size and super clean. Very happy and strongly recommend. Would stay again.

Do Not Waste Your Money
No handicap ramps into hotel. No kleenex in rooms. Beds uncomfortable. Room hot. Called 3 times asking for early check in and the room was barely done 15 mins after the check in time. Codes are difficult to use on doors. Tried to cancel 24 hrs after booking bc I double booked by accident and they wouldn’t let me even with trip insurance. Rooms small even with the premium double.

Overall I love this place, but…I thought it was really inhospitable to receive an email asking what time I would check out. As in during my trip you ask me to stop what I’m doing to let you know when I’m checking out? It gave me a negative vibe.

We really liked our stay. Everything looks new and very modern. Big room and comfortable bed. I really enjoyed the explanation about the water source that was display in the bathroom. Very, very clean !! My only complaint is that our bed had 2 broken leg stand. The staff had put wooden blocks to try to fixed, whoever in the morning the bed frame was uneven and the head of the mattress by morning was touching ground. If I had something to dri k I would had believed it was the alcohol making me feel upside down. We only stay 2 days otherwise I would had to ask to change rooms. I still would recommend for any one that wants to stay close to downtown within a 5 min drive and easy access to the highway and would stay again.

Interesting concept- no staff. Totally self check in and out. We didn’t need anything so it worked smoothly but if you did need something it would be interesting how they provide service. Left our luggage in their luggage storage room while we went on a 4 day hike and everything was safe and secure.

Fixtures and design look good in pictures and the first 10 seconds stepping into the room looked very impressive. However things started showing after 30 mins in. Mold growing around the bathroom ceiling exhaust, bathroom counter is warped from water damage, faucet is not firmly attached to counter, kettle had nasty goopy slime inside it (probably from the previous occupant?), some USB outlets in the wall plug are non functional. It seems like this property was recently purchased and in the process of renovation. The owners put in some high end hardware into the rooms which I appreciate. They opened up some rooms that were completed to get revenue. The lobby looks like it is in the middle of construction to add a dining area (I didn’t mind that part) They just need to maintain the finished rooms that were used for operations and this would have been a good hotel. As it currently stands the 2 star is a fair rating

Comfortable stay at Alva
Great customer service without a front desk!!! Was able to check in early and the family loved the stay. First time doing a contactless check-in. Parking before the building is free. There’s free street parking too opposite the hotel. Netto grocery store is close by. Cleaning crew were very polite and friendly.
