We really enjoyed this hotel. We had a nice balcony, plenty of space, suitable kitchenette, and comfortable beds. The breakfast was a little underwhelming but entirely acceptable. And while we were glad to have paid for private parking, the lot is very tight and somewhat difficult to maneuver. Aside from that, everything was lovely, and service was friendly.

Was more spacious than other hotels in the area and had a great location in the middle of the main shopping street. Was very confortable. Had an attractive lobby area and storage of luggage was very convenient. Only negative was the chemical smell of the room and poor coffee option in room. Breakfast was copious and free in nice space.

For the price, the accommodation was acceptable - was a large apartment with three separate rooms so was perfect for our family with a teenager and younger son. The location was right downtown (which was fun, albeit loud) in the middle of Pride week. We were not made aware of parking options, which there seemed to be but we were not told about. The building itself was old. The dishwasher had a terrible smell and was hard to work. The windows weren’t clean, the cupboards and drawers would fall off their tracks and the doors didn’t close well, including the patioo door. Reception was somewhat curt. It was also terribly hot with no way to cool off the apartment other than open the windows, which didn’t work that well.

First the good part - the staff couldn't have been nicer. The room was perfectly fine. The location was excellent. The main problem was that the room was very hot and there was no way to cool it down. We could only open a window a crack. Staff told us to turn on the bathroom fan and open the bathroom door - that did nothing to cool off the room. Also, the water had the strong sulfur smell - even the cold water. When we asked for water, we were told that the sulfur water is all they had. We had stayed at a different hotel close by a couple of weeks prior and they had drinkable water. I had to go out late at night and walk for blocks to find a store where we could buy water. Which we needed since the room was so hot!

We arrived to the hotel from an overnight flight expecting to drop our bags behind the front desk. Hotel Fron had a room that we were able to check in at 7:30 am without extra charge. They were knowledgeable about the area and set up a taxi for us also.

Nice front desk staff. Central and convenient, close to attractions. Clean. 24 hour reception is a plus, given that I was stuck in the south due to flooding and arrived in Reykjavik after midnight. Excellent breakfast. I recommend it and would come back!
