Best thing about this place is the free breakfast and happy hour. Other than that it was a very unpleasant stay. Extra slow elevators, a fee to park, weed smell everywhere and nonfuntioning thermostat. I called the front desk to let them know that my thermostat was broken. Thats when I found out that it was not broken, it was locked out so that I couldnt cut on the heat. This was the most insane thing that I have ever heard in my life regarding a stay at a hotel. Management controls the temperature in your room and cut off the heat or air when they feel like you dont need it on. Its straight up bs. It was 40° oitside, my room was freezing and I could not use the heat because it was locked out by management.none of the rooms was able to cut on the heat.someone else telling me what the comfort level is supposed to be in a room that I paid for is unacceptable. Once I started looking into this matter it seems that they do this quite often and basically whenever they feel like it. This is most definately not something that I woukd expect from the Hilton brand.

The front desk staff greeting us were excellent, as well as the everyone in the dining area . The evening front desk person went out of her way to look as unwelcoming as possible . Our executive suite needs work . The bathroom door is rotting away and the shower leaks onto the floor . We had to leave a towel on it which was always in the way of the door as the bathroom is very small for such a large room . We were next to a smoking room where the people continuously opened the sliding door for the smoke and threw their butts on the pavement . It was annoying and there should have been a section of rooms where smokers can stay rather then spoiling or time there .

It was rather warm in Virginia, the staff cut off the AC units. We were told something about a "Indian summer" and they will not turn the units back on. We were told that we could open the windows and we could get a fan from customer service. The rooms were very uncomfortable!!

Unfortunately the AC was out, so although it worked at night being cool during the day or morning it was extremely warm in the room. Some people received box fans, I was unaware about. We stayed on the 8th floor. One night only two of the four elevators worked and then the second night only one of the four elevators worked so taking the steps was the only option at times. The manager processed a refund for one night but it was brutal. Came in town for a wedding so had no time to change to a different one.

Breakfasts were well organized, plentiful and great variety, well-serviced. Dining area was clean and well-monitored for keeping cleanliness standards high. Suite was well maintained and stocked. Front desk staff were polite, efficient, and friendly. I particularly commend Annette for her superb attention to assist us in finding destinations that we were able to find in and around Richmond, VA. Hats off to Annette!! We drove 13 hours to the hotel only to be told we don’t have a room and we paid for the room. Very upsetting that we couldn’t be placed in a sister hotel it was just like oh well next in line.

There was no air conditioning in the entire hotel. We were told Expedia could call and they would authorize a refund. I have been trying for 3 days to get a refund from Expedia. We had to check in to another hotel. Beware of Expedia and Embassy Suites
