Large villa for rent in Rome

If you are planning a wedding or a large family reunion, Casa Romana Estate can accommodate your needs. This large Rome villa is part of a large estate located just 7 kilometers from the city of Rome, Via si Santa Cornelia right outside the Village of Prima Porta. Casa Romana 5 is an estate composed of a main villa divided into two wings and two separate cottages. This layout allows large groups to spend their vacation together yet have intimate spaces to retreat to. This estate can accommodate 18 with 9 well appointed bedrooms and 6 full baths.
In the early 1900\'s Casa Romana became a meeting place for a group of famous artists known as the \"Convivium Romanum\". Many beautiful paintings left by these artists, still decorate the villa walls.
From the pool you can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains! (The pool is unheated, but certainly does not need it in the Roman Summer). The area surrounding this property boasts such activities as golf, tennis, horseback riding centers, bike rentals, mountains and skiing, lakes, seaside, aqua parks, health spas and thermal baths, what more could you want?

The west wing of the main villa, also known as Casa Romana 1, has two stories. The ground floor is composed of an entrance hall which leads to a comfortably furnished living room with fireplace. The adjoining dining room seats up to 8 guests. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a stove, oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. A full bath with shower and toilet is also located on the ground floor.
The house has a mezzanine where the first queen bedroom is located.
On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms. There is a twin bedroom, a queen bedroom and a twin or triple bedroom which can be used as a family room if there are only 6 guests. There is a beautiful terrace adjoining two of the bedrooms. The terrace is equipped with a table and chairs, and is shaded by an awning. From here guests can admire the beautiful gardens! The second floor also comprises a full bathroom with tub and separate powder room.
Outside the house is the pool with pool deck and lounge chairs. Views look out onto the mountains and the garden. There is also a terrace off of the house for outside dining.

The east wing, known as Casa Romana 4, has two well appointed queen bedrooms and a full bath with shower, bidet, sink and toilet. A kitchenette with small fridge, stove and barbeque are located on the terrace which has a table and chairs for dining al fresco.

The first of the two cottages is Casa Romana 2 which has two storeys. On the ground level is a nicely furnished living room with plenty of seating for 6. Off of the living room is the fully equipped kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining room table seats 6. Just off of the kitchen is an outdoor terrace with barbecue for al fresco dining. One of the three bedrooms is located on this floor. This queen bedroom is comfortable and well furnished. A full bath with shower and sink and separate powder room completes the first floor.
A spiral staircase leads to the second floor. (This floor can also be reached from a staircase located outside of the house.) The second and third bedrooms are located here. The first bedroom has two or three twin beds depending on the size of your party and the second is a queen bedroom. These two bedrooms share a full bath with separate powder room.
This cottage also has a television, VCR, stereo and telephone. All windows have screens.

The second cottage, Casa Romana 3 is all on one floor and closest to the pool. Very suitable for children. Outside: Private courtyard with dining for 6, living /Dining room: large room also with equipped kitchen area. 1 double bedroom (Queen bed), 1 shower room.

The Villa stands in its own farmland at about 13km from the Capitol and heart of the city and about 6km, from the first residential quarters on the north side of Rome. Frequency is reduced to every 40 mins on Sunday. Until midnight there is also a frequent bus service (every 10 mins. or so) from Rome to the local village (Prima Porta).

LATE BUSES
After midnight the buses from Rome to Prima Porta go at 12,30, 1,30, 4,40, 5,00 am. SUBWAY/ METRO
There is a subway/metro station at Prima Porta village (approx 5 mins. by car or bus from the Villa ) with trains going every 15 mins approx. Subway journey time approx 17 mins. to the historic centre of Rome (Flaminio station next to Piazza del Popolo). The service operates from very early in the morning until 10,30-11,00 pm.

Casa Romana Estate
While we can't say enough good things about our stay and especially the helpfulness of the property manager, there are a couple of things to note regarding the information in the listing and reservation. First, there should be clearer definition of the situation regarding air conditioning and fans. It was not what we expected and did present some challenges given the temperatures we experienced. Second, the reservation indicated that we had the whole villa. We were caught a bit off guard to discover the on site, live-in staff and the amount of work being done to the property while we were there. Third, the option of bus and train transportation turned out to be less practical than described. You will want a car or to take advantage of the excellent local transportation services recommended by Bernard. All that said however, I would very much recommend the property to any large group.
