Lots of potential
There were pluses and minuses to our stay. We wanted quiet…check. We wanted views…check. The grounds have a convenience store, and a cafe ( closed Wednesday and Thursday) nice feature. Close enough to Chama, check! However, the communication with the owner was hit and miss and that’s being generous. The website showed another cabin as being available ( and it was not) as well as the promise of AC ( which cabin 5, the one we booked did NOT have making sleeping difficult ) When contacting owner, she replied once to me and about three other times she did not. She’s had the property a year, so maybe she is still learning, but it definitely felt very different than other VRBO stays. I was not contacted prior to arrival ( although she said she wanted to give me directions as Google sent some to the wrong road, I did not receive those directions). Also, website said 3pm check in, and upon arrival at 3, I was told the check in was at 4 and our tiny cabin would be ready then.
I wish her well, it’s a large property and it’s a lot of work, but clear communication could have eliminated the need for what I hope is considered constructive criticism because that is how it is intended.
