Tower of Terror
We arrived after dark and our Uber driver dropped us off around the corner since the street was blocked off in front of the hotel. The hotel was pretty dark when we walked in with flickering lights and the lobby was empty and no one was at the front desk. The first thing my son said was that it looked like the Tower of Terror--the old Disneyland ride. We waited 5 or so minutes for the clerk to come back before getting checked in. It's an old hotel (which I love) but had been updated with cheap furnishings which hadn't held up well. Our room was not that clean (splatters on the wall and mirrors) and the bed was not comfortable. I did regret choosing it to save a few dollars. It would maybe be fine for one night. Hot breakfast to order was included at the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel and it was fine.

The architecture of the building was amazing, that old world charm. A little tight for ADA compliance especially on the elevator. The room and bathroom were great and it was clean. I really lived the building and vyook pictures. Reminded me of an old NY hotel.

Comfy beds, clean rooms & helpful front desk. Several concerns were the late night loud race cars at 2 am & dumpster dumping which is out of their control. The cleaning crew was great. Sadly, they made one bed but not the other which was odd and a strike against the service.

Cricket in bathroom on arrival. Peeling wallpaper in bathroom. Gave us a card to fill out for housekeeping requests (eco friendly) but card requests not fulfilled until we asked the desk later. Bed very comfortable though, and location was amazing for quick walks to Alamo and Riverwalk. Hard to see hotel sign at street level during the day

My friend and I stayed 4 nights; the room was dirty. I said something about it being dirty and the bites/welts I was getting. The guy assured us it would be cleaned the next morning it was not. There was one trash can and it was in the bathroom. The pillows were mini pillows. I will never stay at this place again.
