Hotel Gibbs in San Antonio offers a blend of historic charm and modern conveniences, making it an ideal choice for those wanting to explore the heart of the city. Its prime location allows easy access to local attractions like Rivercenter Mall and the Riverwalk. Throughout the hotel, there a touches of historic items that have been preserved from the original building, allowing guests to take a step back in time. The hotel offers a speedy valet service, which can be requested digitally through a link in your text messages. The included hot breakfast is excellent, offering a variety of tasty options to start the day, including all the common breakfast staples, plus breakfast tacos and fresh fruit. While the rooms are on the smaller side and lack extensive closet space, they’re comfortable enough for a short stay. We stayed for one night. The creaky wood floors and echoey hallways add to the hotel’s historic character, though they can make for a noisier experience. Overall, Hotel Gibbs is a charming and convenient base for a San Antonio getaway at a fair price.

good for the price. located in downtown so there are so many places to go close by. the hotel is old and historic so understand that it will look old lol. pros: - great service - free breakfast (our favorite) - free wifi - clean (enough) - cable tv (no smart tv which was okay for us lol) - literally walking distance to the alamo and riverwalk cons: - 45 d*llars per day parking. since this place is located downtown, i understand it’s hard to find parking but i always expect hotels to have their own parking lots/garages so idk. it was valet parking thru a 3rd party. it was a good experience still since the valet service was great. things idk how to feel about: - the room was small which was okay since we don’t need much space. however, i wasn’t expecting to bed to be located right in front of the door lol. - it’s downtown so it’s not gonna be quiet. we were still able to sleep well despite the city noise. - (tmi) the bathroom doesn’t have the vent fan so when we p**ped, you’ll really smell it lol so bring poopurri in conclusion, it was a good stay!

This is a pretty hotel in a good location even with all the surrounding construction currently happening. We could not figure out how to park for valet service the afternoon we arrived but finally figured it out and the attendant was nice and very helpful. The front desk staff were also very nice on the first night. The breakfast was really nice each morning also. However, the staff and parking attendants on our only full day weren’t friendly and, at one point, we waited 20 minutes to hand our car keys to an attendant with no acknowledgment whatsoever from the two standing within five feet of us. There was a pretty lady insisting on getting something from her car and she took both of their attention for the entire 20 minutes. It was humiliating. The help at the front desk on that day and the day we checked out made us feel less than important. As far as the room, it was really cleverly decorated and spacious but we could hear everything from all surrounding rooms and especially the hall. We probably won’t choose to stay here again unfortunately.

This is not your cookie cutter hotel. I have stayed several times, and the room has been different everytime. It is a converted office building from 1909. I think it would be perfect for anyonenwho wants a unique place to stay. It is literally next to the Alamo. Breakfast is also good! You can get a drink in the evening also.

I would give this hotel 4.5 stars. It could have been a little cleaner, nothing gross or major, just dusty and a little worn. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, and most of the staff was friendly.

It was really nice in terms of service and style. However, the toilet was really loud, as well as the AC, and our blankets had a stain on them. We did receive extra blankets when requested so we just used those instead.
