The hotel is pretty old and smells musty (at least the 17th floor and rooms did). Our shower was clogged every day and they couldn’t fix it. We also had black mold in our bathroom. However, all of the staff were helpful and amazing. We ended up switching rooms. The spa and massage therapists were wonderful. The pool area was really nice too but crowded. If it weren’t for the attentive staff, we would have switched hotels.

There are a lot of homeless people in the area. But the hotel feels very safe.

It’s in downtown SD so not very clean, the property itself is Clean but old and dusty. The rooms smell old, and had a creepy locked door in the rooms looks like it’s a secret passage, behind the bathroom mirror. The service was bad, front desk rude. Parking is charged different than what is advertised, and when I brought it up I was told I was wrong. Even when I had screen shots. Paid $25 for a watered down margarita at the pool bar. But was billed for breakfast at $54. I have been charged for 3 overnight parkings stays but stayed one night, left early because of the bad service. I have called back 4 times to have someone walk over the charges with me and keep getting the round around. Was promised a call back from a David and still no call back 4 days later. Now the charges reflecting on my bill have doubled and no one can resolve anything for me. Please learn from me, and avoid staying here.

This is not a 4.5 star property. Rating should be updated. Windows were filthy, carpets were musty. Housekeeping did not service our room one day, even though we were gone for 12 hours. Had to request clean towels at 10pm upon our return that day. Keys stopped working on multiple days, requiring trips to the front desk to re-key. Other 4 star hotels in the area are much nicer & cleaner (Intercontinental, Westin). I felt mislead by the 4.5 star rating. Staff was very nice, but other things listed above made the stay not enjoyable. Wish we would have booked somewhere else.

A little of everything
It used to be a most beautiful hotel, now it needs some fixing up, but still nice. I like the location, the amplitude of the rooms and baths. Very good service. The parking is way too expensive though.

The hotel is overall very nice, offering a wide range of great amenities that make for a comfortable stay. However, the outdated cable TV system is a bit disappointing, especially since most hotels have upgraded to smart TVs by now. The staff is exceptional, providing top-notch service throughout our stay. Just be aware that valet services come at a cost, and the parking fees can be quite steep.

Stayed here for a night for fun, but wanted to stay an extra day for the spa area in the building across that was included in the stay. The hotel had a nice aesthetic that was unique. Best service was the quick and professional valet drivers. Front desk gave a bit of 'tude at some point, but honestly I don't blame them because they had to deal with Comic Con creatures the days prior to our stay. Felt unsafe walking places around the building, but it wasn't terrible compared to other big cities in CA. Had to drive everywhere in San Diego anyways and parking was terrible, but at least the valet guys I mentioned before made it tolerable.

Was supposed to receive. Complimentary bottle of wine off of Expedia. Did not receive it The property is dated and looks like a Trump property from back in the 70’s not updated at all. The trolley runs next door and they blow a loud foghorn every 25 mins so homeless people don’t get hit by trains. Bathroom smelled moldy. The in room fridge stunk of mildew. Bed was fine and enjoyed having a robe- the tv offered basic cable NO STREAMER services. This hotel is perfect for someone coming in from abroad but not for this Los AngelinoZ there are WAY BETTER HOTELS for $300 a night in the area. This one is on the outskirts of the gaslamp where it’s dangerous. Didn’t feel safe walking at night.

Nice Hotel, Great staff!
The hotel was very nice and very accommodating. They provided excellent service. The staff were very nice from the front desk to the valet service. The parking is a bit pricey at $50.00 a day but that seems to be the norm everywhere. The room with 2 double beds was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay!
