I enjoyed the hotel. It was an older hotel, but well kept. I like the little extra features the rubber duck in the bathroom, a candy jar in the room, and an umbrella for use since it rained during our stay. I extended my stay an extra night, and even though I posted the "do not disturb" placard room service knocked on my door twice, and I even received a telephone call asking me did I check out even though I checked out at the front desk. The hotel did not have a restaurant, but there are several restaurants close by. The cable car is right outside. We enjoyed a comedy club in walking distance. We would definitely return.

Front desk staff extremely helpful and friendly. We went to use microwave in coffee area and it was broken. She immediately had it replaced, which was very helpful and kind. All staff friendly and helpful. Cookies and apples were awesome!!

The hotel was fine, handy to Union square, cable car and shops. Room was dark and window exterior really grubby. Lifts were slow and can slither down stairs if happy to do so, but not well lit at all. Protestors for Marriott and Westin I know were outside hotels control but were on both opp corners to us and with single glazed windows, we were awake at 6am with drums and chanting all day - been ongoing we hear for months.

Great spot and location that’s affordable. I will say that the person who checked me in said my room number out loud with other people in the lobby which is a huge safety issue. Especially with a hotel with no keycard to the rooms

The location is great, walking distance to stores and many many restaurants . It’ right in front of other 5 star hotels such as the Westin and Marriot, and for half the price you get basically the same location. All rooms have a bathtub and they have really cool pillow menu. The propriety is perfect if you are looking for an affordable yet clean, well located and cozy hotel.

Chancellor is in a great spot next to Union Square the rooms are great and the hotel is very nice and clean beds are so comfy with the added extra of coffee when you want and cookies for breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

Stay there with a friend , plenty places to eat around and we felt pretty safe despite being in Union Square, parking is close but we decided to take uber to go dancing . Room was clean and we slept good , we were in a high floor so really didn’t hear any particular noise . Staff was just fine , polite .
