Pro: Clean room for overnight stay after concert at Chase Center. Toiletries were available in bathroom. Staff were friendly. Available parking (for fee). Wall unit to run AC. Con: Can hear noises outside of room and bathroom. Bathroom was a bit dusty. Not sure if it haven't been used or if it wasn't cleaned throroughly. Coffee maker missing the needle to poke the pod to make coffee in the morning. Back parking was very tight but we made it work. Overall: It was ok for the one night to rest our heads. Not sure if we would stay again when we're in town again. I booked solely for the parking and location was near the Chase Center.

Small Bathroom - Hot Room
Checked in and the room was clean and nice BUT extremely hot. No air conditioning. Tried to call front desk 5 times before I went down and asked for a fan. Lobby was ridiculously hot also. Front desk agent had 2 fans pointed on him and gave me one. Even with fan, room was at least 80 degrees. Bed was comfortable but due to heat, I tossed and turned all night. Bathroom was extremely small. Room was clean. Staff I encountered was very friendly and helpful.

They took my security deposit out 4 times! They took 800 dollars from me and told me I have to wait 3-5 business days to get it back. It’s really frustrating because that was money I was supposed to use for my trip.

When I saw the address I was uncertain what I was getting into, but I was pleasantly surprised by the modern renovation of an older space. Staff was courteous and always available. Parking was often available. The continental breakfast had really delicious pastries and banana bread. It's not a quiet part of town, but it's super convenient and an excellent price.

The queen bed standard room is quite a bit small. Not much room for your luggage so you end up putting it on the ground and it makes it hard to move around. There is also no sink in the bathroom so you have to end up outside in the main room to wash your hands. Again, small rooms. Not much place to put your things on the counter around the sink they provide by the door, and you end up having your drinks and stuff there too and it is just way too small. It’s alright but wouldn’t recommend for 2 people. We won’t go back. They also had hidden fees beyond hotels.com and it was almost an extra hundred. Super lame. Staff didn’t even do anything for us for them to charge all these extra fees. Ridiculous.

if you have never been to San Fran, 6th street is where all the homeless is, and this hotel is at 7th street, so basically one block away. Day time was okay to walk around but you would not want to go outside when it is dark. As others reviewed previously, hotel has some sort of strange smell even though they tried their best to use diffusers to cover it. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and this is the place to go, around the downtonw, convinient, cheap.

After a booking from another property was cancelled, Travelocity agent helped me secure accommodations at Hotel Garret. It worked out great. Hotel is very close to public transportation and relatively close to a number of dining options. This particular area in SOMA is very safe compared to other areas nearby. The light breakfast and coffee served in the morning is a plus.
