Cleanliness or service is not a priority here.
This place looks good in photos but when you get there the photos are very deceiving. The smelled chemical clean but if the moment your bare feet step on the floor you can feel how grimy it is. I did not take my socks off the entire stay. The shower too felt grimy and smelled mouldy. The exhaust fan was much too loud considering it was insanely close to the 2nd bed. My flight was much later and I checked out earlier to go out to explore and when i got back their lobby didn't even have a washroom you could use. The staff at the front desk was not professional. There was a couple that arrived separately and their maintenance staff made a crude comment saying that theres something fishy going on there and ones probably cheating on their spouse. TBH that was so unnecessary to be saying out in the open regardless of what that guest's circumstance was. They clearly did not screen the room and not noticed me in the corner. Keep your comments to yourself sir and just be grateful for the business. Overall, horrible experience and it just felt gross staying there.

The staff was great. Easy to get to, but the room is pretty bare. Nothing but a rolling office chair to sit in and the bed was very uncomfortable. Perhaps the hardest bed I've slept on.

Great location for the air show. Staff were friendly. Cleaning agents in the rooms was a little strong/perfumed. Very clean and quiet. Would chose to stay here again.

Hidden gem!
Looks like the whole place was redone and it was really nice. Safe area. FREE PARKING!!! Close to Pier 93 and the Presidio. Honestly couldn’t have asked for more especially for the price. Room is tiny with no microwave but who cares! So much to explore no time to be in the room anyway! Front desk was so accommodating for us. Definitely will be back

You truly get what you pay for. Rooms looks nothing like the photos. Rooms are dim, humid and smell. Comments about the bed are very accurate. Incredibly hard and hot. My first room was littered with fruit flies and mosquitoes. I had killed 4 within the first 10 minutes. I had to ask twice before being switched to a second room; however it still had the odd fly and ant. The shower was disgusting. I had to wear shoes in.

The La Luna is an excellent 2 star motel. It was overpriced because there was a major convention in San Francisco when I stayed. Also, on Expedia it said that reception was manned until 2 AM. I called the La Luna six times the day before because i expected to arrive close to 2 AM. I called during regular business hours and no one ever answered. This said, the room was clean and functional, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well stocked and shower pressure was good.

Love that it’s close to many dining options and the presidio. They have tea and coffee in the lobby 24/7. There is also a water refilling station as an added bonus. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are clean.
