Escape to Wildwood
This property is truly a work of art. Our escape to Wildwood was fantastic. We were so lucky to get to spend Thanksgiving with our family in this gem of a house. Tom and Carolin have taken great care to make sure even the tiniest details reflect the woodland theme. They even had snacks for when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped and we had all we needed. I can’t wait to go back.

Our host, Carolin, was very welcoming, informative, and accommodating. We found that the home was clean, has a well equipped kitchen with complementary snacks, five private bedrooms with additional sleeping space in common areas, and a large number of bathrooms, (4.5). There is a large collection of books, many games for all ages and even a play nook. Even though we couldn’t completely enjoy it, (rainy weather), there is a nice outdoor garden / patio area. Off street parking is offered. We appreciated the three large common areas, living room, family room, and dining room). The dining room has a huge table where we all gathered for some meals and to play games. Caroline even provided a vintage high chair for our grandson! The home is situated in a nice neighborhood with a small grocery store / deli, an Italian bakery, and a restaurant within walking distance. We enjoyed them all! The waterfront and ferry are just a short walk away, (three or four blocks). For midwesterners who are usually surrounded by land—not water, it was interesting and fun. The hosts have done a wonderful job of making this home a place for families to gather. They have incorporated a bit of whimsy and a lot of comfort into each room. We had a great time!

4 generations of our family stayed in this lovely home to visit family in West Seattle. We were welcomed with warmth and kindness, showed around, given access to helpful amenities. The home is clean, comfortable, creative, relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed to make several meals and a roomy dining room. We had a wonderful time.

Quick work retreat in West Seattle
We planned a quick trip for a small team of co-workers to get together for a day of meetings and socializing in the evening. The house was perfect for our small team to have their own bedroom and bathroom with plenty of common areas. The backyard was a great place to sit and enjoy conversation. The BBQ setup was perfect for a great dinner and Endolyne Joe's across the street! We walked to Lincoln Park after dinner and enjoyed the sunset. Perfect location. Thanks!

A beautiful, old home in a historical West Seattle neighborhood. The family enjoyed staying there, especially spending time in the outdoor areas, which were creatively landscaped and beautifully planted. We spent a weekend together celebrating the life of our sister and aunt who passed away last year. The house seemed to reflect our late sister’s tastes, so it was actually very suitable. One criticism I would offer is that the beds on the top floor and basement were not very comfortable. The main bedrooms on the second floor were very nice, though. Body wash in the showers and facial tissue at the bedside would also have been a big help. Overall a lovely property. We enjoyed our stay.

The outdoor spaces are simply gorgeous — perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or enjoying an evening under the stars. The location is ideal, offering a peaceful, neighborhood feel while still being close to everything Seattle has to offer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with character and comfort!

Enjoyable stay
The house was big enough to comfortably fit our group of nine adults. We enjoyed gathering in the back yard and at the large dining room table. Since we planned to use public transportation to get around the city, having a bus stop right in front of the house was perfect. The house was well-stocked, so we didn’t have to go shopping immediately after arrival.

Out of town wedding guests
Our daughter was married at the Normandy Park beach area. We were able to provide hospitality for East Coast guests. We chose it for proximity to venue, ferry, and walking areas. It was perfect. We spent most of our time on the patio enjoying the weather and landscaping, especially the hydrangeas. House was very well appointed with everything we needed. We loved having the windows open for cross ventilation. The bedrooms were beautiful. The artistic touches around the house were delightful. Thanks again. We loved it.

Amazing Home and Hosts
From start to finish this house was perfect for our extended family of 13. The house itself gave everyone their own space and something to do for the kids. We stayed for 2 nights prior to our cruise and the hosts were very accomadating. Very easy to hop on and off the bus with the stop right in front of the house. And the cafe up the block had great food and coffee. Highly recommended this house if going to Seattle.

Fabulous Staycation
We visit our son and his family every year and this year we thought it would be fun to have a staycation...it was a huge success. The location worked out perfectly for us! I could walk my granddaughter to her school, walk to Lincoln Park (amazing!! fun for all ages!!), or run up to the corner store for needed items (they even had corn starch). The home itself was also great. The bedrooms were comfy, bathrooms great, and with 4 levels, fun for the kids to explore. The g-kids couldn't believe there were TV's in every bedroom, a special treat for them. They also loved the large bathtub in the master bedroom, our 3 yr old wanted to take a bath every night! I like to cook and this kitchen had almost everything I needed, many more gadgets than any VRBO I've stayed at over the past 14 years. Old school kitchen but loaded with the pots, pans, blenders, etc that you might need. Tom and Carolin were great! We were greeted with a refrig with our favorite yogurt and water, and a basket full of snack bars that our gkids loved! For us, it was the perfect family experience!

Fantastic House and Service
We loved this place and highly recommend it! Beautiful home chuck full of character - renovated but in keeping with 100+ year age of the home. We found the owners fantastic to deal with. Tom met us on arrival, gave us practical information and interesting history on the home. We truly appreciate what was set up for guest use on our arrival - from towels and linens to coffee and snacks. Also, we found the location outstanding. Express Bus downtown stops literally right outside the door!

Thanksgiving in West Seattle
We spent a week at this property celebrating thanksgiving with our family. The beach was with in a short walk, restaurant was around the block and a small store for take out or other needs. For a house being this old the heating system was very good and never had a problem with enough hot water for baths/showers. The house itself was very comfortable and in a very nice neighborhood.

We had eight guys in town for the football game, and it slept all of us comfortably. Within walking distance, there was an incredible park on the shoreline, and a few great food options. The owner met us as we arrived, and had even baked some fresh cookies for us. While the football game didn’t go our way, the house made our weekend perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic family home!!
We stayed at The Wildwood while attending a wedding in Seattle. Our two children with their spouses and three granddaughter ages 3 to 7 joined us. Tom and Carolin have prepared an incredibly warm, welcoming home, beautifully appointed and cozy. Besides an appealing playroom with children's library, they had prepared an outdoor fishing game (that entertained them for hours) and a fun squirrel artwork scavenger hunt indoors. There is plenty of parking in the long driveway, the neighborhood is beautiful and a beach walk a few blocks away. It is close to one of Seattle's most popular breakfast spots, we also enjoyed breakfast around the large, lovely dining table. We were all extremely happy with the wonderful, comfortable stay. Thank you, Tom & Carolin

Great place, great hosts
Our company came to the Wildwood B&B for a few days together. It far exceeded expectations. The house is large, clean, and beautiful. We were always comfortable - there was more than enough space to work and live without being on top of each other. The hosts couldn't have been nicer. Carolin is a pastry chef and left us some butter cookies, which were amazing. The fridge was stocked with yogurt, sparkling water, and other essentials. Everything worked great, and although we weren't able to really explore West Seattle due to work commitments, we had a couple of nice meals at spots that were less than a block away. Also, there's a bus stop just out front, so anyone who wants to get into Seattle has a cheap and easy way to do so. I will DEFINITELY return if life or work brings me back to West Seattle! Thanks, Tom, for such a great stay!
