Our family of six enjoyed four days/nights in this cozy, nicely decorated home, over the long Thanksgiving weekend. We had informed the owners that we'd be arriving at night, and when we drove up, we felt quite welcomed; the house was well-lit and easy to find on this quiet, darkened street. We walked into a lovely home with flowers and snacks waiting for us! The location is terrific and close to shopping and places to eat, and away from the commotion that one usually finds in downtown Sedona.
We were grateful that the owners allowed us to bring our small dogs with us. The nice backyard is very secure, and they were able to roam around out there. A “pooper-scooper” is even provided! We had rain and snow throughout our stay, but in other seasons, the well-equipped and furnished backyard would be a great place to spend some time for human guests too!
In the living room, there is an electric fireplace that we "lit" on the day of an amazing Sedona snowfall. Although we didn't actually “cook” at the house, the kitchen is perfect for making meals, with all the necessary pots, pans, utensils, etc. (FYI: If you plan on bringing coffee, the coffee maker is a Keurig, as opposed to a “Mr. Coffee” drip-style. They provided some pods.)
We were somewhat housebound because of the weather. So, we were disappointed that we could not get the large living room, flat-screen TV to operate. Our adult sons and daughters-in-law are quite savvy with electronics, etc., but they were perplexed at what the problem was. There was a welcome card, but it gave no clue as to what we needed to do to troubleshoot. For the master bedroom TV, be sure to flip the switch to turn on the outlet, into which the flat-screen is plugged.
The king-sized master bed is very comfortable. In the other two bedrooms, there are bunk beds, and a queen-sized bed. The owners will also provide an inflatable bed if needed. Except for the master bedroom, there is no access to closets or drawers. However, there are cubed shelving units that can be utilized. I was glad I had brought along some bath towels, as they seemed to be limited. Plenty of toilet paper, liquid soap and shampoo/conditioners are provided.
The “Sedona Red Rock Garden of Paradise” filled our needs perfectly. We made wonderful memories this past Thanksgiving! Our sincere thanks to Dustin and Ximena for sharing their home!
