A lovely and very individual hotel built in traditional Siwan style, with brick/mud walls, date palm ceilings etc. Local materials used to create authenticity. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Staying at the Shali Lodge is really a magical experience. The mud-brick walls keep the rooms cool in the day and warm in the night. The beds are simple but have lovely sheets. The light fixtures are all made with salt from the nearby lake. The hotel is interspersed with many lounging areas. The restaurant is very lovely and delicious. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly - especially Ali and Ruheim. They organized a trip to the springs in the desert which was fabulous, and a day at the pool of Siwa Gardens.
very nice and pretty middleclass hotel, beautifull built of nature mud so dust belongs to it. Good breakfast on first store toproop surrounded by palmtrees. Hot showers wich is super on cold nights in wintertime.
Life in Siwa just moves on like ages, so slow down and enjoy staying is this charmfull hotel

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities

Unfortunately time only allowed us to spend 2 nights in Siwa and the Shali Lodge but we would have loved to stay longer. The spacious room was beautifully furnished and all kinds of little items for decoration made it very authentic and cozy. Eventhough we stayed in Siwa in the end of September the mud-brick architecture of the hotel kept the rooms pleasently cool and keeping the windows closed also kept most of the mosquitos out. An other plus was the lovely wee terrace of the room with a nice view on the plamtree garden and the homemade feta-like cheese for breakfast.
