Treehouse Place at Deer Ridge! "The Ole' Mill"

We can't wait for you to experience this tiny treehouse mill! Our property has been featured by Outside Magazine as a number #1 destination in WA!

Sunrise brings rays of light over Mt Pilchuck. You may see deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, and bald eagles throughout the day. As night falls listen to the distant calls of coyote or spot a curious raccoon, opossum or owl. A gentle seasonal stream turns the fully restored waterwheel adding to the overall serenity.

Enter the mill through the large French doors where you will find a luxury bedside soaking tub and high end full size Murphy bed. Soaring ceilings give the mill an open feel. At the back of the space there is a kitchenette with everything you need to prepare a simple meal along with a table and stools custom made from wine barrels. There is a private toilet room with an ingenious incinerating toilet and pedestal sink. Upstairs you will find a cozy loft which is the perfect space to cozy up with a loved one and review the day's photos or snuggle up with a book.

A covered cedar deck graces the front side of the building with plenty of room for seating and a BBQ. A large cedar tree pushes up next to the deck and sometimes provides home to many species of birds creating the perfect soundtrack for relaxing. There is a private hot tub near the fire-pit which is a wonderful place to take in nature!

More about our property:
Treehouse Place at Deer Ridge is a 3 acres property featured as one of the top 10 treehouse destinations in the US! The neighboring homes are on 3-20 acre lots. Our lot contains 2 treehouses and the main estate home. The treehouses can not be seen from each other.

FAQs:
Are there hiking trails in the area?
YES. Some of the best hiking in the state can be found just a short drive away! We can send you a list of our favorite hikes and secret spots for you to explore.

Are late arrivals okay?
YES. In fact night time arrivals are a real treat because the boardwalk to the treehouse and grounds are well lit. We say it's very "romantical."

We are celebrating a special occasion. Can we order special decorations, flowers, or something else?
YES. We offer special upgrade packages. We can make the payment arrangement easy for your via Airbnb!

What is the approximate size of the treehouse?
Interior space is approximately 200 sq ft and there is an additional 50 sq ft covered deck.

The space says it sleeps 3 but I only see one bed? YES. We say three are allowed because we had a lot of guests request to bring a little camper with.
Kids are welcome but please bring sleeping bags or other arrangements for their bedding. Space is limited so if a 3rd camper joins it may be a tight fit.

We have a 5 star rating! Come let us earn your 5 star review too! I am dedicated to making sure your experience is the best possible! I want this to be a place you will look back at fondly and want to revisit for many anniversaries or special occasions to come!

You will need a car to get around. There is a nice paved bike trail about 6 miles away (Centennial Trail). Guests will have free parking in our large circular driveway suitable for cars, SUVs, and trucks.

Prior to check in you will be given the keyless entry code. From the time you arrive, we will completely respect your privacy and leave you alone to enjoy your experience. We have a local manager ready to help if needed.

Although technically not supported by trees (nicer to the trees) you are about 15 feet above ground at the front and 10 ft at the back. This puts you up in the tree canopy with the birds.

No ladders are required other than for the loft. You are welcome to stroll the grounds. It is quite and peaceful but you may hear one of our cars depart or arrive throughout the day. At times you may hear seasonal yard maintenance. Some of the grounds are in view of the main home. Sometimes the surrounding land is used for dirt bikes so you may hear that in the distance. It's rare but we want to tell you it's possible. The grounds offer incredible views and are lit at night. We are high up on a hill and the star gazing from the yard can be quite something on a clear night. You will have full access to walk the park like yard or walk the woods.

Relaxing oasis
We loved this gem , we had no issues. We spent our entire days here , leaving once for a short drive for approx 1/2 hour. I could've spent an additional day here. Loved the soaking tub. We were able to cook all our meals , the huge fan was a bonus. We enjoyed sitting outside , listening to the birds and just relaxing . We would definitely rebook this gem or check out the other properties listed by the host. Cute reading nook or meditation loft above. This is one of those trips where you can just plan on staying inside or at the property and refreshing your soul ,,bring Everthing you think you will need so you don't have to leave ( :

Romantic getaway
This place is a fantastic get away for couples. Communication with property owner was excellent with very fast response to a question I had. Everything is SO clean and the layout is cute. The toilet seems to be updated from previous reviews. It's pretty simple to use. You'll love the view of Mount Pilchuck!!

Cute treehouse
This tree house was very nice! Lovely view, comfy bed, very quiet. The one slight issue we ran into was the incinerator toilet. It made the tree house a little smoky. But other than that, it was a lovely place to stay. The owners were very responsive and accommodating.

Little piece if paradise!
I loved the cabin! As soon as I saw it I had to smile. The view is fantastic and I loved the big tub in the room and the fire place. The location is fantastic if you're trying to get away for a quiet peaceful getaway. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because I am very noise sensitive and the sound the toilet makes for 90 min after it's been "flushed" kept me from sleeping. Also the mattress made my back hurt (but some people might like the super soft mattress).

Fun but stinky
We wanted so bad to give a 5 star review because we had such a nice time there but here is the issue...... The bathroom smelled so bad. I would of probably given 5 stars still if some kinda air freshener was left. We had to spray hand sanitizer to somewhat get rid of that smell. It had one of those toilets that burns your 💩 so it has nothing to do with cleanliness but still you know that stinks. Everything else was so much fun and wonderful. I'm mean the tub was awesome and the hot water never went cold. The mill creaking behind the house was so cool it made watching scary movies so much scarier. The only other thing is a 10am check out Time was kinda a blow. I would of much preferred to sleep in longer and not be so rushed. 4.5 stars

Cute and Peaceful Getaway
Cons: there weren’t check-in instructions so we didn’t know the code to unlock the door. Luckily it was unlocked when we arrived, but we weren’t able to lock the door when we left (not a big concern). It’s also not a treehouse so much as it has trees around it. Pros: we loved it. The mill wheel was peaceful and I liked hearing it when I woke up in the night. The location is convenient for an overnight getaway from Bothell. The tub is every bit as great as it looks. My partner and I drank whiskey and soaked by candlelight while talking about our plans for the fall and winter. The property is new so it still has that fresh wood smell! Ultimately it’s a cute little spot for a night away from kids and pets :)
