About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
A substantial six double bedroom property located in the heart of St Agnes.
Believed to have been built for the Captain of the Mines, Rosevean House is a rarity on the North Coast of Cornwall. It is a substantial six double bedroom property located in the heart of the thriving village of St Agnes.
Rosevean House is arranged over three floors with six double bedrooms, three of which are en suite and a further two shower rooms. It has a large open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room with bay windows overlooking the garden and on the lower ground floor benefits from a large games room with a full-size pool table and table football, as well as a TV/Cinema room. There is a large terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue, and an additional terrace adjacent to the games room which catches the evening sun. Beautiful well stocked gardens surround the property with ample parking and plenty of space to store bikes, surfboards etc.
St Agnes has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tin mining was of vital importance to the village, but today it is also well known for its thriving arts and crafts and for its many excellent restaurants and cafes. Rosevean House is half a mile from Trevaunance Cove which is a fantastic beach for surfers but also for those simply wishing to enjoy the scenery or explore the splendid rock pools. There are two other nearby beaches, Chapel Porth which is owned by the National Trust and Porthtowan which was recently described by the Telegraph as the UK’s best beach for learning to surf. The area is spectacular for walking but is also becoming increasingly popular for cyclists.
**There will be scaffolding at the rear of the property from mid January 2025 for 8 weeks in order to repair the stained glass window. Temporary glass will be fitted during this time and this work should not disturb guests.**
Additional Information:
One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Please keep dogs off the furniture and out of the bedrooms at all times, and in the utility room when wet.
Travel cot and highchair available on request.
Please be aware of an ornamental garden pond near the front door.
There are steps from the kitchen / dining area to the terrace, and again down into the garden, however it is possible to avoid these by going out of the front door and using a ramped access.

St Agnes has two excellent sandy beaches, Trevaunance Cove (10 minute walk) and Chapel Porth which is owned by the National Trust. Both are popular and suit all ages, try your hand at rock pooling or give surfing a shot. St Agnes itself has a butcher, two bakers, two small supermarkets, two greengrocers, and a fish “ deli “ and there is a fishmonger on the way to Chapel Porth – so it is easy to “shop local”.
Surf lessons and equipment hire are available at Trevaunance Cove and coasteering and guided kayaking are further options. Otherwise, play a game of tennis at St Agnes Tennis Club where you can “pay to play.”
For the less adventurous, St Agnes is well known as a centre for arts and crafts and there are a wealth of workshops and galleries to explore. To take in the refreshing sea air, enjoy one of the many superb walks, a recommended one is around St Agnes Beacon which is owned by the National Trust and offers some stunning views.
The village is an ideal location for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall with a huge range of things to keep you busy. If you have a passion for food why not try the mouth-watering Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant (Watergate Bay) or enjoy a delicious meal at Rick Stein's seafood restaurant (book well ahead to secure a table).
The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heliganor Falmouth with its superb castle and Maritime Museum provide you with a diverse and interesting variety of activities.
The National Trust House and Gardens of Trellisick and Trerice are both beautiful places to take a wander. Otherwise, simply take a stroll around the pretty town of Padstow with its abundance of shops or the cathedral city of Truro.
Have dinner cooked in the comfort of your cottage by Georgina Campbell 07590 725 563.
The Cathedral City of Truro with its many shops and restaurants is nine miles away.
There are a number of National Trust properties nearby to explore and St Ives, with The Tate at St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum is well worth a visit.
