A rural stay just 4 miles from the increasingly popular town of St. James. On the farm, you’ll enjoy gorgeous sunsets by the firepit, view the cattle grazing just feet away, and get cozy inside the newly furnished Cottage. Well known for its award winning wineries and dining, STJ also offers various specialty shops and lets not forget the gorgeous Meramec Springs and surrounding rivers. MO S&T and Fort Leonard Wood are just a short drive along I-44 as well. It would be our pleasure to host you!
The space
The Cottage is situated on our 75 acre cattle farm that has been in the family since the 1950’s. Over the years different family members have lived on the farm and have very much enjoyed the beauty it offers. We are pleased to share The Cottage with guests who we hope will think the property is special as well.
And worth mentioning is our excellent location on Hwy 68, just a couple of miles from Spencer Manor Winery, then head into town where you’ll find the award winning Sybill’s Restaurant, Public House Brewing Company and St. James Winery, Country Bobs, Jitter Beans Coffee, Exit 11 Coffee, Ruby’s Ice Cream, and Rich’s Burgers just to name a few of the various selections for food and drink. Wanna take a wine tour, gather friends and family and book the Gateway Trolley. If you’re in the mood to shop, check out The Little Brick House Modern Home Goods and Gifts, Sybill’s Gift Shop, One Sixteen Clothing Boutique, SJ Nature Shop, Huffman’s Garden Center, Leatherwood Cigars, and multiple antique shops. Head South of town on Hwy 68 to try out our beautiful 9 hole golf course and further on takes you to Meramec Springs Park, open to the public for viewing the trout hatchery, camping, fishing, or having a picnic at one of the shelters available in the park. Whether visiting for business or pleasure, you will surely be impressed with what our special Ozark town has to offer.
Guest access
The driveway onto the property is shared with the owners who live just across from The Cottage. The designated parking area for guests is to the righthand side of the house just in front of two large stocktank planters. Parking is flexible, we just ask that the main driveway and path through to the cattle gate are not blocked. Lastly, a farm isn’t a farm without good farm dogs and a cat that thinks she’s one;). We have 3 friendly pups that might greet you if out for their playtime, they love to make new friends if pets are your thing!
