The property is undergoing significant and needed renovation and upgrades. My sister thought the lobby was similar to the Estes Hotel think “The Shining”!! Our room was recently renovated with a sleek bathroom and high end Moen shower fixtures. I recommend that you pack slippers or extra socks; following a trend this ownership used a wood (fake wood) planking not carpet. That’s an excellent idea but when I checked out this morning the temperature outside was 25 Fahrenheit. The room temp was 70 but the floors felt 60. The included buffet (and guy making omelettes and waffles) was excellent, great coffee and substantial offerings. I would stay there again

Old hotel in dire need of upgrades. There was a wedding reception two floors above us so loud it shook the walls in our room. There are several nicer hitels nearby. Don't stay here.

Under renovation
Hotel is under renovation, so keep that in mind. I read that some rooms have been upgraded, ours was not one of them.. our floor and room smelled like cigarettes. Pictures on the app can be deceiving, no bar or restaurant other than breakfast, pool and game room seemed out of operation. Staff didn’t acknowledge us much when walking by. Nice location though.

We enjoy the breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was better than your average buffet and they had made to order omelets and waffles. As far as cleanliness goes, they were remodeling parts of the entry way from the garage. The room was clean as expected.

I had a great stay at the Clayton Plaza Hotel & Extended Stay! The location is fantastic, situated in a wonderful area with plenty of amenities nearby. While the hotel has an older charm, it’s well-maintained, and the staff truly make the experience exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The property was older, but being renovated, not totally complete but the room that I stayed in was renovated and really nice touch screen water for the showers hardwood floors instead of carpet really nice. That is totally a plus for me the hardwood floors instead of carpet with animals being able to reside in hotels now Breakfast options were also nice including the station I will give it to 8 out of 10

Great place to stay. Safe area of St. Louis and loved that there was a parking garage and the hotel would validate your parking ticket so you didn’t have to pay for parking at the hotel. I do wish the restaurant would have been open for lunch and dinner but as of now it’s only open for breakfast. Beautiful and clean hotel and staff was very friendly. Will stay here again when visiting St. Louis
