I would give 5 stars for the owners and their responsiveness. When I informed them there were insufficient dishes, silverware & towels, they quickly delivered more. They mowed, cleaned the outside & sprayed for bugs, taking good care of the property. There was a good wifi connection, smart TV good too. The flooring has been updated and was nice. The back yard was the best part. Lots of chairs, gas grill, lots of shade, a shaded dining table on a deck.
However, I would not give 5 stars to the interior. In this 1950s house, the electrical outlets were sparse with none at all in the bathroom. No dressers or shelves to put our clothes, so we lived out of our suitcases which wouldn’t fit on the floor due to the small size of the bedrooms only being slightly larger than the beds. This house is very small (620 sq ft.) No screens on windows so cannot open up and no screen doors. It would have been nice to get fresh air inside during this wonderful Florida weather. The central air conditioning however was wonderful. Parking is on the street only. No dishwasher and no coin laundry as listed. We have rented dozens of vacation rentals over the years and this one was below average.
We were sadly unable to use the provided bikes, which was one of the things we were attracted to in renting this place. The seats couldn’t be raised enough for our heights and older knees (we are only 5’6” & 5’11”) and seemed more appropriate for teens or less. One seat was permanently rusted where it is. Otherwise the bikes looked in good shape and they would have been fun, and fairly close to the Pinellas Trail.
