PARKING:
One private parking space below your windows, off the well-lit alley outside the back gate. The parking pad is raised from the concrete from the alley, but unless a vehicle is exceptionally low to the ground, almost every guest has not had a problem with it. Average sized vehicles and SUVs can usually fit. Oversized vehicles may need to park on the street, in order to not encroach on the other guests assigned parking space.
Free street parking is in front of the main house, accessible through a side gate from the front of the house.
Your rental is the upstairs unit in a building that houses another vacation rental downstairs. The main house in front is a vacation rental as well. (Note: The driveway in front is reserved for the guests renting the main house.)
You'll have complete privacy in the upstairs unit, and you also have access to the courtyard between the buildings, and your own assigned parking space. There is additional parking on the street if you need it.
We were high school sweethearts, now in our thirties, married, with a new baby! We do not live on the property.
We want you to have a wonderful experience, as this is not just an endeavor, it is our passion. If you need anything at all, please be sure to let us know immediately so we can do whatever we can to make sure you have the best experience possible.
We are centrally located close to downtown St. Petersburg, about a 6 minute drive. We are in the historical mixed Euclid neighborhood,
with brick-lined streets and easy access to the main freeway.
The popular biking/pedestrian path, the Pinellas Trail, connects just a block away, which runs from downtown St. Petersburg all the way to the beach.
Crescent Lake Park is a large park just a few blocks away, with winding paved pathways around the neighborhood lake. Don't tell anyone, but there have been many tales of a hidden treasure somewhere in the park! The park has lots of picnic benches and sitting areas, and is partly shaded with beautiful banyan trees. You'll also find friendly squirrels, wading birds, a playground, and tennis and pickleball courts.
Restaurants, gas, groceries, pharmacies, department stores, a couple of organic markets, homemade ice cream, a neighborhood fresh produce stand and even Trader Joe's are within a 5-10 minute drive. If you're a shopper there are also countless art galleries, unique craft and gift stores, boutiques, consignment and oddities shops to explore.
We have lived here a couple of years, and we still feel like we have barely scratched the surface.
For more ideas, be sure to check out our online Guidebook here, within the Airbnb app.
We are within walking distance of a bus route, but most people use Uber, Lyft or taxi service to get around if they don't have a car. Feel free to bring your bicycles - they are also a popular mode of transportation here, and you can park them inside the courtyard. The popular biking/pedestrian path, the Pinellas Trail, connects just a block away, which runs from downtown St. Petersburg all the way to the beach.
It’s a quick 5-7 minute drive to downtown Saint Petersburg, 15-20 minutes to St Pete beach, 30 minutes to Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (football), 10 minutes to Tropicana Field (Tampa Bay Rays baseball), and 30 minutes to Amalie Arena (Tampa Bay Lightning hockey), and 35 minutes to Clearwater. Nearby commercial airports are Tampa International Airport (20 minutes) and St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport (20 minutes).
If you would like to venture a little further:
Picturesque Anna Maria Island, Bradenton Beach, and Sarasota are about 45 minutes-1 hour south. Enjoy the view from the Skyway Bridge on your way there, as you seemingly just keep going up, up and up, over the top of the bridge. If you’re lucky, you may drive over the bridge at the same time a cruise ship is gliding under. Make a trip over the bridge at night, too - the lighting adds to the excitement!
Oh, and Mickey wants you to know that Orlando is about 90 minutes to the north.
We generally keep the hot tub around 102 during the spring, winter and fall months. During the summer, we keep it slightly cooler (95-99) temperatures, as we have found that guests tend to prefer the water to be cool, or just slightly warm, not hot, during the summer months. The temperature is adjustable to your liking if you prefer it warmer or cooler, and is likely to be set at whatever temperature the last guest set it to.
Assigned parking spaces are strictly enforced. If you are in an oversized vehicle, it may be necessary for you to park as close to the fence on your end as possible, which will possibly mean your back tires may be off of the parking pad. Two vehicles, even oversized, should be able to fit on the pad if both park to the very end of their space. If your vehicle does not fit within your space, there is free street parking in the front of the main house, and you may access the property through the side gate at the driveway.
Quiet Hours are 11 pm - 7 am, and are strictly enforced, because this is a shared space. Keep in mind that you are above another rented space and your sound carries downstairs to the guests below, and vice versa. Excessive noise will not be tolerated.
No smoking, excessive drinking or recreational drugs allowed anywhere on the premises, including outdoor spaces.
No unauthorized visitors are allowed on property. Only guests included in the reservation may be at the property. If you wish to have friends or family visit, please inform Kathleen or Cydnie in advance or upon their arrival if no notice is given. Visitors are not allowed during Quiet Hours. For the safety of all guests, absolutely no "new friends" are to be brought to the property. Any visitors to the property must be someone you knew prior to your visit.
Events, parties and professional photography/videos may be allowed if pre-arranged with host. Additional fee may apply.
