Cosy hotel, great location

Friendly, helpful staff. Cosy hotel, log fires, healthy breakfast buffet plus extensive hot food, good coffee.

Central location

This is the second time staying at this hotel and I wouldn't go back. We stayed last year the night after our wedding and this year for our first anniversary. I asked them to do something nice for my husband as it's also his birthday which they said they would but didn't! The location is fantastic and the look of the building is stunning, however this is what you pay for! We were in a tiny room for £140 a night which overlooked 3 other bedroom windows and the roof of the building! The double bed was like sandbags, as were the pillows. The breakfast was ok, had the full English one morning and had bad guts all day! The bar is quite pricey, almost £10 for a pint of cider and a vodka, lime and lemonade, so we never stayed there to drink! Would we go back?? No.. beautiful hotel and the staff were really friendly but just too overpriced for us for what you actually get.

Comfortable warm and clean

Pros: cleanliness and attention to essential details of food and hospitality
Cons: Disapointed to see a member of the kitchen staff smoking in the car park behind the hotel; totally unsuited to anyone involved with hands on catering
Location: excellent close location to the town and its amenities
As above - and very good food, friendly helpful staff as in previous stays

Das. Hotel ist gut und empfehlenswert. Weniger gut war die Empfangsdame, die bei den Problemen rund um die Bezahlung des Parkplatzes (Kreditkartenzahlung am Automaten nicht möglich, nur Barzahlung mit 14 Münzen möglich). Nach 3 Versuchen Münzen im Hotel zu bekommen (Rezeption, Bar, Rezeption) schickte man mich zur Bank. Dort erhielt ich mit viel Zureden die Münzen. Hotel Empfangsdame uninteressiert, hilflos, inkompetent!!!! Alles andere im Hotel aber durchaus angenehm. Personal gut und dienstbereit.
