Introducing "Sandbox 9" where the spirit of adventure meets the tranquility of the Lake of the Ozarks. Nestled in the wooded cove of a charming lakeside neighborhood near popular restaurants & attractions, these cozy cabins have stood as beacons of lakeside charm for generations.

Guests have access to the full property, private boat slip, boat launch, public dock area and trailer parking.
Steep hill walking to boat dock, parking available if you prefer to drive to dock. Lightly wooded and rocky property terrain. Pets are required to be leashed and controlled at all times on community property.

Wooded area complete with wildlife! You could encounter deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, skunks, bugs, spiders, wasps, mosquitos, snakes, lizards, etc. This is all part of "lake life", and while we do our best to keep unwanted pests away the occasional unwanted visitor may intrude on your stay.

While the location is wooded and somewhat remote you will be surrounded by neighboring cabins and residences occupied by other vacationers and full time residents and their pets.

The cabin is less than 3 hours from Kansas City and St. Louis and less than a 1/2 day from Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Kansas. Major highways lead to the lake with blacktop roads up to the entry of the neighborhood. Neighborhood roads are gravel.

Boating and watersport enthusiasts will love the included boat slip, launch, and trailer parking, making it easy to bring your watercraft along for a fun-filled day on the lake. The community dock, complete with a swim ladder, is ideal for a refreshing dip or for launching paddle boards, kayaks, or a floating raft—bringing that "tropical island" fun to the lakeside.

While the lake views are gorgeous, note that you may also spot neighboring trailer homes—adding a touch of authentic lakeside charm to your stay, much like the laid-back neighborhoods of a Hawaiian beachfront community.

Some "House Rules" to note:

NO SMOKING or VAPING: This is a smoke-free property, including inside the property or on the deck. Smoking is permitted in the fire pit area.

PETS: Pets are welcome! Up to 1-2 dogs are allowed. A pet fee of $50 per stay applies. No cats, or other animals without prior permission from the host. Failure to register pets, by adding pet guests to the reservation or notifying the host, will result in a $150 fine, not including any damages.

NO TRAILER, RV, or OVERSIZED VEHICLE PARKING is allowed along the road or driveway to this property. The neighborhood road is narrow with tight turns, restricting trailer, RV, and oversized vehicle parking. There are designated parking areas for such vehicles within walking distance—please check with the host if you plan to bring a boat, trailer, RV, or other oversized vehicle.
PETS Pets are allowed. No more than 2 dogs permitted. A pet fee of $50 per stay will be applied to your reservation. You MUST register your pet guests with the host.
Check-in 4PM Check-out 10 AM No early check-ins or late check-outs unless agreed upon in advance with your host.
Important House Rules: 1. No smoking or vaping allowed in the condo or on the decks. 2. Quiet hours are from 10PM-8AM 3. No parties. 4. Pets must be leashed at all times when outside on Shadywood Acres property. Please clean up after pets, bag stations provided.

Sandbox 9-Boat Slip, SUPs, Fire Pit, Pet Friendly offers its guests barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.
