Ferncreek studio faces a tranquil forest garden with native trees and numerous birds that visit it and the studio's balcony daily. The studio is best suited for 2 people and is approx. 30m sq in size. Pets are welcome but guests must CONTACT HOST to discuss their pets and only house trained pets are allowed. (extra fee for pets per stay $30). Two additional guests can be accommodated and an air-mattress that is available and extra bedding can be provided.
The studio is very private and is located to the side of the main house on a suburban street, and is close to shops, a supermarket and cafes. At the same, you will feel as if you are staying in a forest setting. Enter Ferncreek studio via a path at the side of the main house, to the private veranda and a self-contained space with a panoramic native bush garden views. Numerous birds in the garden and at night possums, sugar gliders and other small bush mammals roam the garden.
Furnished with antique arm-chairs, couch, double bed, fully equipped kitchenette, hot/cold air-conditioning, fast wifi, TV & DVD and a movie library; a modern bathroom, a toilet with digitally controlled bidet, seat heating etc. The super modern toilet can be operated via digital controls to massage, heat, wash and even play music but if not switched on electrically, it's just the usual toilet. Guests find it fun to operate. Must be seated to operate. The shower has strong hot/cold water pressure.
The studio is located mid-Blue Mountains in Hazelbrook village, 10-15min walk from Hazelbrook train station. It it is only ~15 minutes drive to the famous Blue Mountains spectacular canyon views and walks such as in Katoomba, Wentworth Falls etc. There are also many beautiful waterfalls and bush trails in Hazelbrook, 5-10 minutes drive from the studio, including Terrace Falls circuit, considered some of the most beautiful in Blue Mountains. There are also many stunning waterfalls in the Blue Mountains National Park within 20-30min walking distance from the studio. A famous grove of giant gum trees, largest in NSW, is a short drive away. The famous glow-worm cave, which magically transforms into fairy-like lights is nearby, at Horseshoe Falls of Hazelbrook. Visit it at sun down to see the "show". We provide directions and advice to guests including dog-friendly bush and waterfall walks.
Pet friendly. You can bring your pet with you but please CONTACT HOST BEFORE BOOKING to discuss what kind of pet and only house trained pets permitted. There are many pet friendly stunning bush and waterfall walks nearby and we will provide information about them if requested.

The studio is best suited for a couple. Extra 1-2 guests can use one of 2 floor air-mattresses and guests with kids often use this option. Please, make sure that if more than 2 people, that the air mattress option suites your additional guests. There is only one double bed in the studio. The couch can be suited for a toddler to sleep on but not an adult. We provide extra bedding and towels for additional guests on request. Additional guests over 2 cost $40 per. Children under 10 years old - no extra charge.
Ferncreek studio is very private, with its own balcony own laundry and a little yard with a table and chairs and a BBQ. Guests also have full use of the huge native-bush garden backyard that it opens into. Note that the backyard is not fully fenced so children and pets need supervision. There is a fully fenced outdoor space where guests may leave pets inside - approximately 5x5 meters in size.

Please let me know the approximate time of your arrival and departure. ***I ask all guests to contact me with their choice when making the booking: Since I do not charge a cleaning fee and to make it easier to clean for our cleaners, please wash and put away all plates, utensils and cutlery, do a light sweep of floor (broom etc next to fridge) and tidy up before you check out. No need to make the bed or remove bedding. If you prefer not to do so, please agree to an extra cleaning fee of $30. Fees for early check in are: before 10am - $50; 10-11am $40; 11am-12pm - $30; 12-2pm - $20.
Fees for late check out are: 11am-12pm - $30; 12 - 1 pm $40; 1 - 2pm - $50; 2pm-3pm - $60.
The airbnb is usually heavily booked, which means there are guests leaving or arriving on most days of the month. Please, discuss any requests for early or late check in with the host as other guests currently staying, may be already booked for some of these time slots.
Guests with pets - IMPORTANT - Only house trained pets will be permitted. Please, notify the host if bringing pets whether they are house trained as soon as you can. You as owner, must confirm that your pet/s will not sit on the bed or furniture. Guests must bring ALL the required items, such as bedding and towels for their pets and must NOT use any of studio's towels. It is a good idea to bring a towel to wipe your pet in case of rain. Ensure that pets never sit on the couch or bed. It is crucial that all dog poo is removed from the garden to the big rubbish bin (red lid) in front of the house. Please, make sure that your dog does not get anxious and bark all the time if left alone.
IMPORTANT: All guests are requested to do a light clean of the floor before check-out, especially areas where your pet (if you have one) had slept and remove dog/cat hair. There is a broom and a mop next to the fridge. ALTERNATELY, GUESTS CAN PAY AN EXTRA CLEANING FEE OF $30. Your light cleaning helps our cleaning to be done within 1 hour and to be able to keep this airbnb without extra cleaning fees. YOUR LIGHT CLEANING STILL REQUIRES THE AIRBNB TO BE PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED AFTER EVERY GUEST. Additional guests above 2 are charged an extra guest fee of $30 AUD per person, per night.
The huge backyard has a beautiful creek surrounded by ferns. Many native birds visit the garden and studio balcony and even an occasional lyrebird by the creek. Great for birdwatching. During the day, the garden is visited by many birds that land on studio's balcony - many species of parrots and lorikeets, kookaburras, native pigeons, bowerbirds, etc. Many parrots are quite unafraid of people and can even land on your hand!
This studio is located in Hazelbrook, mid Blue Mountains, so it is very easy to access the rest of Blue Mountains. It's only 15 min by car to the famous canyon and waterfall sites in Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, Leura etc. Within an easy walk on a wide trail of 30min, several beautiful waterfalls - Hazel, Edith and Mabel, where platypuses have been seen. A 5min drive from studio to Terrace Falls road will take you to a stunning walk toTerrace falls, known as the most beautiful in Blue Mountains. It's an easy walk on a wide sandy trail and 4 waterfalls. There are also Horseshoe falls famous for glow worms, and many more.

You are very welcome to bring pet/s but please contact the host before making the booking. All guests with pets are requested to follow these rules: your pet/s must be house trained; does not sit on any furniture or bed (very important); does not chew or damage any furniture and you remove any of your pet's poo from backyard into the rubbish bin with red lid in the driveway of the main house. Please, bring everything that is required for your pets and please do not use kitchenette items as pots for your pets. Pet fee $20 per booking.
The host, Dr Anya Salih, is a semi-retired coral reef scientist and you are always welcome to contact her if you have questions. She has been renting out the studio for over 3 years and most guests give it 5 stars.
Hazelbrook train station is an easy walk of 10-15 minutes to Central Station in Sydney. By car the trip is approximately 1.40 min from Sydney.
