Nice property great location for circular quay and transport hub. Hotel was “ historical” with an old world charm. If you’re looking for a homogeneous modern hotel then this isn’t for you. Bathroom and room was huge compared to others locally and considerably cheaper. Front Desk staff were very good and friendly. Only disappointment was the taxi cab ordered by hotel to take us to international airport - he charged me over aus$20 more than the hotel had agreed. It would have been cheaper to get an uber. Plus he was late - sat outside hotel without informing us he was there. Not a good reflection on what was a good hotel stay.

Elegant hotel 500 yards from the Sydney Opera House overlooking Circular Quay. Across the street is the Royal Botanical Garden. The hotel is old, but very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast included.

There was no mini bar in the room even though was stated on facilities when booking. Poor lighting in the room and sensor lights didn't work in the bathroom. Cob webs where visibile on the ceiling in the room. Fridge and air conditioning weren't working properly. Fridge not cold and airconditioner could not adjust setting even set at 19 degrees still went back to 23 degrees.

As a Gold member on Hotels.com, I expected the advertised benefit of a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability). I confirmed that an upgrade was indeed available during my stay, but I was informed it would require an additional fee. I declined the offer, as this undermines the promise of a “complimentary” benefit. I factored this perk into my decision when booking, so it’s disappointing that it wasn’t honored as expected. Hotels.com should review and clarify the advertised conditions for Gold member benefits to ensure customers can make fully informed decisions. That said, the hotel itself, while somewhat dated, was comfortable and conveniently located near all amenities.

Nice hotel, poor check in process

Very nice older style hotel. Stay was great except for check in. The staff member informed me that there was a room upgrade available but I would have to pay for it even though I am gold and qualify for a complimentary upgrade if available which one obviously was. It was the one thing that may put us off staying here again.

Great location! The $350 additional charge per person for NYE rooftop access was not worth it - if you’re short. Views are obstructed and only certain potions on the rooftop have good views, so if people if front are tall, you basically can’t really see.
