The room temperature controller in the room was not very good, so it was cold, and the bath shower facility was cramped and uncomfortable. It would have been better if it had been converted to a shower room than a large bathtub that is not even in use.

I loved my stay at Rido Hotel. The best thing is the location! Across the street from Daan Park, two blocks from Yong Kang Street, and half a block from a MRT entrance. The room was large and the one I booked overlooked the park. There was a large tile soaking tub. There was free bottled water and a tray with a banana and snacks was delivered to the room every evening. The hotel is old and a bit musty but overall it was a wonderful stay!

I stayed in two different room types in this hotel. The first was a regular park view room, which was absolutely gorgeous. It was small but perfect. The bed and fainting couch were comfy, there was plenty of storage, and the bathroom was tiled and marble, had a jetted tub and separate shower stall, and was simply beautiful. The room faced Da'An park, which was a nice luxury in such a big city. By contrast, the big deluxe room with park view but not at all nice. The carpet and other elements seemed very dated. The bathroom was huge with an even bigger jetted tub, but I didn't like it as much as the previous room's. It also smelled a little musty. We were moved to another similar room the next night, on request. I would recommend booking the smaller park-facing view over the bigger one. The hotel did not have breakfast, which was inconvenient. They did have tea/coffee and snacks in the lounge in the afternoon, which was nice. The staff was very nice. The only thing I was not happy about was that we were asked to pay for an entire night when we wanted to check out at 6 on the last day. They also refused to give us a discount even though we had stayed with them for four nights already.

The location is excellent and close to almost everything. You can hop on Taipei metro in just a few minutes and there is a bus station with multiple bus lines outside of the hotel. Our rooms were small but it did not bother us since we are out and about all day. will recommend this hotel to others.

Arrived around noon and asked about early-checkin. The receptionist seemed confused and told us that check in is at 3pm. I then asked if we could wait and rest in the lounge since our 3-year-old was tired from traveling and cranky, but was informed that the lounge would not be open until 1:30pm. We wandered down the street to Yongkang Street to find a quick lunch and returned at 1:30. The "lounge" in the basement is a coffee machine and some small packaged snacks. We were the only people there along with a persistent mosquito. After 15 mins or so, the receptionist came down to inform us that a room was ready early and we were sooo thankful to be able to lay down and take a nap in our room. Around 4pm, we were woken by what sounded like heavy objects being dropped, bounced, and pushed around upstairs. We tried to ignore it and get back to sleep since we were so jetlagged, but the noise continued for the next 3 hours, when we decided we should venture out to find dinner anyway. Asked the front desk on the way out about our upstairs neighbor and was informed that they have 2 children and are staying the entire week. They said they would call and let them know but the noise lasted throughout our entire 4-night stay. We also heard our next-door neighbor later that night yelling profanities at someone on the phone... the walls and floors are both paper thin. The shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. The carpet and curtains felt only semi-clean. Not sure I'd recommend.
