Anyone renting this should be aware that they are renting a privately owned apartment. You don't have the services of a normal hotel (e.g. room service, daily cleaning, front desk, etc.). That said, I thought this rental was great.
I stayed 2 nights. The owner met me at the apt. She sent me detailed and accurate instructions for getting to the apartment. On arrival, she was very helpful with neighborhood info and local info.
The apartment is ideally situated in a modern neighborhood only a short walk from the old town. There is a mall & supermarket across the street, post office a block away and a very nice cinema directly across the street that plays English language movies. For those arrive or departing by bus - the apartment is only a couple of tram stops from the bus station (the owner will give you details) or if you are arriving/departing by ferry, you can walk (about 15 mins.) to the ferry port. I did both (bus & ferry) and had no trouble at all.
The apartment is a very good value because it is quite a large studio, has a good sized bathroom and a kitchen(ette) for keeping food at home. The wifi internet is excellent and she also has a very large new television.
The owner has made the apartment as hotel-like as possible, but you do feel a bit like your staying in someone's house. You also do not have the quaint atmosphere of staying in the old town, but if I was to return to Tallinn, I would stay here again, especially if I had need for a longer stay.
