It was overall a good stay but the room could have been cleaner. There were odd stains on the furniture and curtains and the place where the cups and mugs are placed was very dusty. The espresso machine's water container was also stained. On the other hand the staff was very kind, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was also wonderful, with a delicious fresh honey straight from the honey comb and great coffee.

New hotel, and nice room. The staff was especially helpful and friendly. The bed was a bit too firm for me (I have chronic back pain) and the receptionist arranged another mattress topper for the bed. Big TV. Highly recommended.

The hotel was about a 7-minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes from the center of town, and right next to a beautiful park. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were spacious and clean. I also had a beautiful view of the sunsets. Breakfast was very good as well, although I had to pay an additional fee for it. I would definitely stay there again if I return to Tampere.

Courtyard by Marriott - Just great!
Courtyard by Marriott in Tampere does not disappoint. The reception staff are absolute top class as are the breakfast staff. Location-wise, its only 10 minutes from the train station and 15 from the city centre. If a decent view is important, you'll want to stay above the 7th floor. Should you want to visit the Mum in museum and shop, the hotel is connected to the Tampere talo (Tampere Hall) with an indoor passage, which is handy should it rain or be cold outside. In the winter when icy, it's a bit tricky to pull heavier bags up the slight slope leading to the hotel but in the summer - no problem. On the way to the hotel from the trainstation, you even get to walk on the street with all of Finland's most famous past and present artists names and "stars" on the street. It's not exactly Hollywood's walk of fame or Leicester Squares famous hand prints, but it's a quick and easy way to pick up a few well known names and ask locals about them - always an interesting and neutral topic for opening a conversation with Finn ;-)

It is a very nice hotel, near a convention center, with very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast buffet. The room was very nice and we enjoyed our stay in Tampere. Visit the Lenin Museum for some interesting history.
