The Space:
When visiting the Big Bend, it helps to have a quiet, comfortable, and convenient home base. Pat O’s Place is exactly that. Pat built his Terlingua home as a place to relax and enjoy. He would be proud to now share his place with you.
Pat O’s Place is a quiet adobe home, lovingly decorated and well furnished, just outside of the world famous Terlingua Ghost Town. It is just remote enough to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to walk to the Ghost Town. The seclusion of the secure adobe home and the tranquility of the spacious porch with views of the Chisos Mountains provide the quiet needed to forget about the pressures and stresses of daily life. The usual noise and distractions are silenced by the surrounding desert. This is a place to reconnect with what really matters.
Relax in comfort inside or out. Inside, the spacious open floor plan is designed for time together. With a full kitchen, dining area, comfortable living space, large private bathroom, and a spacious bedroom with partial wall, the home will sleep four. The bedroom has a queen-size bed. The living room has a large leather sofa that fold out to a queen-size bed. Outside, the large covered patio has space for outdoor dining or relaxing in the ample shade while enjoying mountain views and cooling breezes. The fire ring is the perfect spot for campfire, ghost stories, and making s’mores.
Enjoy the convenience of being close to the Ghost Town, Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande River, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. From the house to the heart of the Ghost Town, it is just over a half mile walk, ride, or drive. Driving to other area attractions is convenient with the house just over a half mile to FM 170. One mile to Desert Sports, two miles to Rio Aviation, four miles to La Kiva Bar & Grill, five miles to Far Flung and Big Bend River Tours, five and a half miles to Hwy 118, six miles to Big Bend Stables, and just eight miles to the western entrance to Big Bend National Park.
Thanks for letting us tell you about Pat O’s Place. Now, come and experience it for yourself. After you do, we suspect that you will want to tell your friends. That is exactly how Pat would have wanted it. This was his special place. It can now be your place to enjoy and remember.
