So I stayed at the penthouse I did not like the fact of all the stairs to get there it was a very big challenge for me I would of appreciated a tv in each room I was celebrating my birthday my family thought it would be a good idea if we ate at the hotels restaurant my bill was 100 dls for and I sent my food back because I didn’t like it I had a order of tacos the meat was super salty I small burito my friend ordered he didn’t like it to salty food is not good and to expensive.

Very relaxing and comforting. Staff was really welcoming and helpful. Safe place and if you love the ocean heating the waves was amazing. You get breakfast, chilaquiles, only option , but still good :).

I stay here in the penthouse for my son’s wedding, our room didn’t have closet area to hang out our clothes, no iron, we did feel like we did stay in a cabin in the mountains. I did request extra towels at reception, and after 30 minutes waiting, I ended up getting it myself from laundry room.

Staff are very nice, the building has very poor maintenance, it’s a shame. The oceanfront is gorgeous. Too many stairs to get down to the restaurant, but once you get down the ocean view is great. Not senior friendly.

Would stay at Castillos del Mar again
I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I read the reviews i was a 50/50 if we should stay or not. We went for it. For our experience I love the room 3rd floor, entering they had an air wick it smell Hawaiian pineapple, room clean, 1st thing you see as entering is the view of the ocean. We as family stayed at few hotels but to be honest this was our first hotel they had youtube and netflix for kids to watch. My kids they absolutely love the front beach next to hotel restaurant they have soccer balls, tennis racket, volleyball for kids to play. Also recommend their breakfast rice pudding, red & green chilaquiles delicious. Last minute we decided to stay 1 more night but unluckily everything was booked. One thing they should do upgrade is the bathroom floor was dirty yellowish on the edges of the shower. But yes i will booked again at this hotel.
