Do not stay in winter
No power to the rooms. For a hotel in this highly tourist town known for its storm season it is not prepared and doesn’t care about guest comfort. The power from the generator was reserved only for the expensive restaurant. No discount for lack of any power or light in rooms.

They do a great job of blending comfort and interest, high-end and funky. The forest sauna is a great touch, along with the mini arcade. We didn't try the food, but the menu seemed like it might have items worth traveling in for. Because Tofino is a hot spot, accommodations and attractions are going to cost a bit of a premium. However, this place wasn't that much more considering the level of varied value and its proximity to the main strip. Skip the people who want you to pay off the mortgage on their investment; go with the quality hotel that goes the extra mile.

Not what you expect!
We were super excited to stay at what looks like a neat funky place. Soon after arriving in our room, we heard a fan on, so looked and looked to see where it was. The shower room is separate and has a drape to pull across: and the fan was running. A switch to turn it off is no where to be found!! Yes, it runs 24 hours a day! And you will hear it 24 hours a day! I’m not kidding. You hear it at night even with the living room style drape pulled across the shower entrance. Not a quiet room for sleeping in. We checked the restaurant menu for dinner that night, chatted with the host, also looked at the breakfast menu, and asked what time breakfast service starts. We indicated we would be down for breakfast the next day. The host acknowledged our plans. The next morning, it’s closed - for scheduled maintenance. We were told staff all knew this! Well the dots weren’t connecting for the host! The front desk told us the restaurant would be open for happy hour that afternoon, so we planned our itinerary to be back for it. Nope - it wasn’t open then either. So we won’t be staying there again!

This is the coolest retro hotel ever! super clean, time warped back but new. The atmosphere is carried through the entire facility. Food was terrific, service great and location to the beach so close. I will definately rebook here and now try the other Zed Hotels; one in Kelowna and one in Victoria.

We booked here for double the price of a place without a hot tub. Then the hot tub wasn’t working :(((( no jets And the hours for the hot tub could have used another hour in the a.m. and in the p.m.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it! The rooms are big and comfy, and its close to restaurants and beaches. There is a paved walking/bike path and their hot tub is awesome! Their sunk in lounge is comfy and cozy and they have great Happy Hour daily from 2-5. We would definitely stay again so highly recommend!
