Country Getaway
Very close to Topeka, KS while still being out in the country. Thus firmer “Sears Home” and event venue was ideal for our group of 6. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the manager, Stephanie - she is simply the best. We would strongly recommend this location to anyone.

Beware of add on charges
Dirty cups and dishware needed washing before use. kitchen not well appointed. Main floor double bed mattress needs replacing. No hair dryer found. Definitely not worth almost $400 Per night. Very disappointing

Amazing property and host
The house and property grounds are beautiful - even much better than in the pictures! We enjoyed the big lawn for sports and lawn games and the nearby pond for fishing. Grandma loved the front porch swing with its beautiful countryside views. The host was extremely helpful and even left us fresh tomatoes from the garden and gave us a tour of the remodeled barn which is now a beautiful event center for weddings or other gatherings that can be rented along with the house. If you’re looking for a country getaway with your family, this place is perfect.

Lovely updated house on the farm
Freshly renovated Sears house (the first I have ever stayed in) on a farm not far from Topeka. Was a wonderful oasis base for our exploration of the Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma National Parks. Full kitchen and gas grill meant we could self cater easily. Host was friendly and communicative even on 4th of July weekend. Door codes and directions were spot on, though we may have a different definition of curvy road ;) Would book again!

Stephanie was really helpful and friendly. The house was perfect, the location was perfect. It's really a gem of a house near Topeka in rural Kansas.

Cozy Country Farm House
This home used to belong to my family. The care that the owners put in to remodel and modernize my old family home is nothing short of exquisite! The rooms and bathrooms are just gorgeous! It was a short, but very comfortable stay and felt just like home!

Great time in Kansas
We were looking for a vacation spot in the "country" outside of Topeka, and we found exactly the place we were looking for! I am originally from Topeka, but had never explored the country just west of Topeka. Not only was the house and grounds perfect (literally a few minutes west of Topeka, but felt like we were way out in the country), there were a lot of small towns just a few minutes away with great historical sites to explore, beautiful countryside to drive through, and great small restaurants! We even met the Dover pie lady (about 10 minutes away)!! The owner of this property plans to offer hunting opportunities in the near future. We will definitely be back!

Great country house just a few minutes from Topeka.
We stayed the weekend and loved this place. We ate at Somerset Cafe just 3 minutes away in Dover. We also went into town (about 15 minutes) to eat and for some activities. Great host and great property with lots of room inside and out for family gatherings and games. Nice updated furnishings but with old-time country charm. We saw some wild turkeys in the field across the road. It all made for a fun and relaxing getaway!

Farmhouse, Fishing & Fun
When my family & I drove up the driveway we immediately loved the look of the farmhouse & its large wrap around porch. Mike & Stephanie were super nice and went above & beyond to make sure we had a good time while staying at their place. We spent a fun afternoon fishing in their stocked pond. The catfish were biting and everyone, even the littles, got a chance to reel in a fish. We really liked the location because it’s so close to the city of Topeka but it’s in “the country”. Thanks again Mike & Stephanie for all you did for us.

Awesome Farm House
Great sunrises from this early 1900's remodeled farm house. There are chickens and a cow and corn planted around the property. Very authentic! The host is very accommodating and personally insures that you have everything that you need. I actually left one of my suitcases at the house and she met me at an exit almost an hour from the house. I really hope that my travels put me back in Kansas so I can stay at this property again.

Farm House Gem with Wonderful Charm
Our group of 8 (5 kids) had an amazing stay at this house and could not have found a better place to fit our needs. Communication with the host was outstanding before and during the stay with very fast responses and they were very helpful and kind. The house is beautiful and has incredible charm. Beautiful architecture with surprising amount of room in the main floor are and the bedrooms as well. It is rare to get 3 good size bedrooms allowing some space to spread out. Having 3 full and well stocked bathrooms was a huge plus. Lots of little touches and things left for us that I have not seen at other VRBOs before were outstanding. The location was a great perk. It is only 10-15 min from everything we wanted in Topeka, but we really enjoyed being in a quiet area with wonderful views. We took advantage of the great porch as well. The kids loved the opportunity to interact with some of the farm animals as well and is one of their highlights from our trip. While it may not be in downtown Topeka, the location, beauty, and house space make this a wonderful find you will be happy to stay. We look forward to returning in other seasons on our return to Topeka.

Business Trip
I booked this property for myself and coworkers --what a great decision! It was a beautiful house with great views. We were close enough to drive in to Topeka for dinner then returned to the house to sit on the front porch with a bottle of wine! Stephanie has put alot of detailed work into the house to make it a relaxing place to stay. I highly recommend anyone wanting a quiet, pretty weekend getaway to stay here!

Perfect spot to relax!
The setting for this lovely old farmhouse couldn’t be better- nestled in the rolling green hills between fields and pastures- this home is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The home has been updated to modern expectations with brand new fixtures and appliances. Spacious bathrooms and a full kitchen make this house feel like home, while a tasteful collection of vintage and modern decor adds interest. Original windows and hardware, wide wood trim, pocket doors and wood floors are a reminder of yesteryear’s excellent building standards. We appreciated the quality cotton sheets, thick towels, linen curtains and beautiful furniture. There was room for everyone and a tall swing beneath the trees to keep the grandson happy. The outside grill was perfect for grilling steaks in the evening. Stephanie was very friendly and accommodating. A model hostess. Highly recommend!
