This DOG-FRIENDLY, private 2-bedroom cabin is located less than 5 minutes off HWY 321 in Townsend, TN, also known as “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies.” Only 5 minutes (2.5 miles) from Tuckaleechee Caverns and 7 minutes (4 miles) from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Perfect for two couples or a family, and bring along your furry family members!

You will enjoy 2 private bedrooms and an open living space. The kitchen is fully stocked with a drip coffee maker (BYO-Coffee) & Keurig (BYO-K-cups) and all the dishes and cookware you may need.

All TVs are connected to wifi with access to all of your favorite streaming apps through Roku (you must log into your own accounts)! Each bedroom contains a 43” UHD Roku-equipped TV. The living room has a 55" TV to enjoy.

The sleeper sofa in the living room can fold out into a bed, if needed. There is an electric fireplace for use in the cooler season (Oct. - Mar.), in the living room.

Please note that there is only 1 bathroom before booking more than 4 people.

We are dog-friendly, with restrictions, so please message us with details if you intend to bring your furry friend(s)!

Mountain Mist Cabins offers a shared Laundry Area.

Do not feed or interact with any wildlife, especially bears.
Make sure all trash outside is placed in the bear proof trash bins.
Never leave trash bags or food outside.

Towels and linens are provided, as well as soaps, shampoos, and even toothbrushes, are available if you forgot yours!

All persons booking MUST be 23 years of age. Please message us for exceptions.

Quiet Hours are from 10PM to 9AM

Do not leave any trash or food outside, it will attract bears.
You are in nature and there are bears and other wildlife in the area. If Bears get too accustomed to people, they are put down. If you feed the bears, you can kill the bears, please don't kill the bears.

The hot tub is for guests 21 and over. Alcohol is NOT allowed near the tob tub. You may not use the hot tub if you have consumed any alcohol or are pregnant. USE HOT TUB AT YOUR OWN RISK!

As with most cabins in the area, all fireplaces are shut down April 1 - September 30.

We do not offer early check-in or late check-out. However, if we are able to accommodate, there may be an additional charge.

Condiments, zip locks, and coffee are NOT provided.

Absolutely NO unauthorized fires! Unauthorized fires (including candles) will be charged $250 plus damages.

Dog Policy - If you are bringing your furry friend, you must submit a message through the app to let us know what the age and breed of the dog is. We do not allow puppies less than 1 year old or certain breeds that are known to be destructive. All dogs MUST be house trained.
Select ‘Pets’ when booking and the dog fee will be added.
You will be responsible for any damages caused by your dog. Please use the designated outdoor area for your dogs to do their business and utilize the provided waste station to clean up after them. Unless otherwise noted there is a $100 pet fee per stay that will be applied to your booking when you select pets.

Because we are dog-friendly, if you have any allergies pertaining to dogs, I recommend you do not stay at this property. While we do our best to thoroughly clean, we cannot guarantee that you may not have an allergic reaction from a previous guest’s dog(s).

Cozy cabin in the great smoky mountains
Had such a wonderful week in the great smoky mountains! This cabin was perfect! It’s on the quiet side away from the crazy crowded Gatlinburg area. Very easy access into park with no waiting. Close to restaurants and shopping in Townsend. The cabin was so clean and had everything we needed for the week! Bonus hot tub for soaking in after long hiking days! Highly recommend!!

Cute cabin!
Uncle Tom’s Cabin was a great place to stay. Very close to Townsend. Everything you’d need for cooking your own meals; the dishes, pots and pans looked very new. We loved the hot tub. One thing I would say is if you’re looking for a sun-filled cabin, this is not it. The overhanging trees didn’t let a lot of light in (our stay was in September); however, there were plenty of indoor light options to cover the areas. Would stay again!

Loved the location. Cabin is a nice combination of rustic and modern. Loved the hot tub. Front porch swing and rocking chairs were great for sitting and listening to rain on the metal roof. Would definitely stay again. 4 star rating for cleaning only reflective of dusty baseboards. Rest of cabin was very clean. Baseboards are rustic wood so might be difficult to keep clean.

Quiet getaway
My sister and I wanted to stay away from the crowds of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We wanted to see Cades Cove, Townsend, and the surrounding areas for Ancestry.com research. The cabin was close to shopping, local restaurants and a grocery store. Several of the restaurants in the area are dog friendly and have outdoor dining. We ate at Peaceful Side Social, and the Abbey at Heartland Chapel with our small dog. Sitting on the front porch every morning was so relaxing! We enjoyed the clean hot tub, and easy to use television setup. The kitchen appliances were new, easy to use, and quite clean. There is only one bathroom so if you have four people staying you will have to coordinate your use of the facilities. Since it was only the two of us we had no trouble. If you are looking for tons of mini-golf, go-carts, and typical tourist attractions then stay in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge If you're looking for a quiet vacation that is close to the Cades Cove end of the Great Smoky Mountains Park, this is the place to stay!

You can see a few other cabins but it’s through the woods and far away enough to make your stay feel pretty private. The host was fantastic and done a great job with communication. The cabin was in the perfect location for where we wanted to hike. The town of Townsend had everything we needed. My 15 year old stayed off his phone and played arcade games, he even wanted to play board games that were at the cabin. Very clean cabin and just the perfect size for us.

Great place, spotless.
My son and In were there for some scenic drving. This was a perfect cabin for us. Everything was really clean, water was hot. Appliances looked all new. Close enough to townsend for quick groceries, easy on and off the foothills parkway for scenic drives. Very close to the townsend fitness trail, the church is gracious enough to allow you to park there. Check in and even changes to pur reservation were effortless. Checkout was straightforward with no weirdness. The video game was strangely addictive to a gen x dad and his son. Beds were firm, pillows seemed new. Very low clearance vehicles will drag some gravel on the driveway, but wasnt serious. If we take another trip tontownsend, our lodging decision is already made. Thanks for a zero hassle stay!
