Quite old and rundown, but clean and well maintained. Doors/walls not soundproof at all. Sound from road noise and pubs travels and goes on to midnight (my stay was Friday and Saturday overnight) Parking on site is free-for-all.

Wonderful Stay on The Strand
We had a great stay at the Aquarius on the Beach. We were allocated a room on the 9th floor, so the views were amazing! Our room was clean and comfortable, great mattress. Friendly staff on check in and check out. Unbeatable location on The Strand.

Aside from very restricted parking meaning my small son and I had to park quite a distance away and walk at night. The rest of the hotel was beautiful, clean and tidy and the staff were lovely.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is just across the street from the water. It is close to many restaurants and coffee shops, yet the neighbourhood is quiet. There is olenty of free parking onsite too. We had an oceanview executive room on the first floor which looked recently renovated and was large. Reception was pleasant and checkin was easy. I took one star off because our room was right across from the elevators so I could hear it at night. There is also no safe in our room which should be standard.
