Disappointing
We were so looking forward to our stay at TAO Tulum, especially given the few excellent reviews on the property. We ended up being pretty disappointed. I realized on the way from the Cancun airport that we hadn't received any check in information, including unit number and the code to the lock box to get the key (I had, however, received checkout information). Host was quick to respond and get us that information. Upon arrival, we noticed that while the unit was clean, both bathroom showers had holes in the ceiling (presumably a leak from an upper unit that hadn't been properly repaired). Also noticed that the safe was locked so we were unable to use it. Messaged the host and he said he would have the property manager come unlock it - that didn't happen until day four, when I pressed the matter. Other issues:* Both beds were rock hard and pillows were flimsy* Bathroom shower was so clogged that it almost flooded the bathroom* Pools and HOT tub were not heated and completely in the shade of the big trees (unlike the small, outdated pictures in the listing)* Gas was not turned on in unit, making it so we could not use the dryer or stove. Contacted host and property manager was supposed to fix it. We left for the day and it still wasn't turned on when we returned - we were told property manager wouldn't go in without us being there, so presumably we were supposed to stay at the unit all day? The gas turn on was OUTSIDE the unit. There was more, but I'm out of room.
