I didn't get a hot shower the whole time I was there. Maintenance called two times. Both times he said there are too many people in the hotel to handle the hot water system. COLD SHOWERS!

The only things that keeps this hotel a 3 star is the fancy lobby and the great staff. Otherwise, rooms are old, mattress really uncomfortable, AC unit has an effective range of 4 feet, unless you are under 5 feet don't expect to be able to wash your head (the shower head they use to reduce water has a really bad angle), also getting hot water is a 50/50 chance.

Check in was easy, the ladies on the front desk were very helpful. The room overlooked the local hospital and ER department. The city were doing maintenance on the drains overnight until 1am and that kept me awake along with ambulances going out. The windows could do with double glazing. The cafe downstairs do nice food and coffee/tea at competitive prices. Checking out was easy. Other than the noise, the stay was good.

Elevator issues, only one or two elevators working at a time. Long waits. Not worth the price for this major inconvenience. All Vancouver hotels are outrageous in price, but when they don’t have working elevators, not acceptable.

Spacious and refreshed rooms
A third or fourth time for us, a couple, doing a weekend stay here over the years. We noticed that the rooms have been updated/refreshed even though the hotel itself is quite dated. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Location is great for walking. Parking is available and reasonably priced. Took advantage of the offer to defer daily housekeeping for a credit used to be used at their cafe at the lobby. Overall a good experience and would return.

One front desk staff seems doesn’t even communicate well in English, repeat over 15 times for her to spell my name and when I ask other questions she is unclear about the information so I have to ask multiple times my self to check. Night shift staff laying on the chair and not very welcoming when I ask questions. And also for the price , they don’t even have free toothbrushes. The air conditioner doesn’t work well, there was ice coming out if I put it on for a day. Won’t be there again. High price but very mid experience compared to Hilton and Hyatt.
