Disappointing couples weekend
There were three couples traveling to Waco, Texas for a long weekend. We had never been to Waco before and were excited about our experience. We originally had rented a home, but the owners canceled on us and this condo was the only one we could find with 3 bed/3bath. Check in was very easy and all communications with owners has been easy as well. What was disappointing was the cleanliness of the unit. It was definitely not up to our standards. We are adults with homes of our own, and it was obvious that this unit is mostly rented by college students. There was black mildew/mold around all three bathtubs, I don’t think the refrigerator had ever been wiped down, there was food residue in the kitchen sink, some kind of messiness on the couch, furnace vent in the hallway was covered in black dust, and all the carpets were stained. We immediately called the owner and told him the unit was dirty. He was very apologetic and said that the unit had been scheduled to be cleaned. He was unaware that it was dirty. He was very responsive and immediately canceled our reservation and refunded in full our funds.

Evacuated due to fire!
Everything was great…until we checked in. The place needs major updates. The smoke alarm was covered with a towel, and then a plastic bag. Carpets have stains everywhere. Didn’t experience what it was like to sleep there, because the place caught on FIRE!! While we were sitting in the front room, we heard a pop noise. Followed the noise, and then electrical burning smell to the back bathroom to discover flames falling from the ceiling in the bathroom. Fire dept came and shut off power off and we were evacuated. What’s worse…the fireman said they were at the unit 2 down just a couple weeks prior! The owner was great at communicating. It took over a week to receive a refund. Thankfully, there was one bedroom left at the nearby hotel.

Very clean but Needs some updates and amenities!
The kitchen was very sparsely equipped...not many utensils at all and only 4 each of plates, bowls, etc. No dish towels. No wine glasses or wine bottle opener. Half of the lights above kitchen sink were out. Towels need to be replaced with new ones, especially the wash clothes...they were dingy gray. The beds were ok but very, very firm. Just needs a little TLC and personalization. A welcome letter would of been nice along with check out procedure instead of getting an email the night of check out. Host was prompt in replying and the condo is in a good location to get around Waco. Not what I expected for the price though.

All 3 bedrooms were very nice and had additional amenities setup like a hotel (hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner in the shower). However, there were no shower heads, so showering was just alright. The location was good, right outside the Baylor bubble .

Exactly as advertised
Clean condo in the perfect location for visiting Waco! We visited Baylor, The Silos, Magnolia Table, Spice Village and George’s, and all were just a few minutes from the condo! We never even had to get on 35 which was ideal with all the construction.

Hurricane Laura Evacuation
We evacuated here from SWLA to escape the wrath of Hurricane Laura. We originally planned to stay only a few days, but after Laura blew through we had no water, sewer or electricity back home. Carlos was very accommodating when we asked if we could stay longer. The condo was perfect for us; myself, my two boys; my friend and her son. We even had plenty of room for my husband and mother in law, who decided at the last minute they should evacuate, but returned home the day following the storm. The three bathrooms were an added bonus. In spite of being refugees, we enjoyed our stay and would return again.

The picture made the place much more updated and better kept than we felt it was. Not the worst place we have stayed but was disappointed when we walked in and it didn’t look like the pictures. Things like cracked tiles, doors that didn’t close, no detergent for washing clothes... small things that add up.

Property was very clean and location was perfect for us (only about 6 mins from The Silos)! Communication was also great. Though we had a mishap and had to move to a different unit on our last night, the situation was handled in a promptly matter which was greatly appreciated. Lastly, plates, cups, utensils, and pots were also provided which came in handy for when we stayed in. I would recommend staying at the Cozy Condos!
