Big Creek - Oceanfront on iso Creek

Big Creek, ihana ranta koti, on suunniteltu kapteenin neljäsosaa vanha puinen alus mielessä.
Tämän kodin sisätilat on rakennettu suurilla, karkeilla kaiverruksilla
jotka on maalattu munankuoren värillä heijastamaan valoa, joka tulee länsipuolelta.
Takka ja meripeninkulmat viimeistelevät tämän viihtyisän, rannan vuokra-asunnon ulkoasua.
Se sijaitsee aivan Big Creekin vieressä, joka ruokkii suoraan merelle.
Ranta ja puro pääsy ovat helpon kävelymatkan päässä takapihalta.
Retkikannella on myös grilli- ja piknikpöytiä rentoa ruokailua varten.

Charming, great beach access.

Our 2nd year staying at this location. We are willing to look past all of the quarks and odd things about the house in trade for fantastic beach access. Its been said time and time again in the reviews, but the place really could use a good deep clean and dusting. The home has fun character oberall.

reat location.

House in very poor condition. Floors uneven due to foundation shifting, can see outside through the slatted doors! Doors don't actualy close into the latches so there is a wooden bar to be placed into brackets to secure the house! Some nail heads ex[osed on the wooden deck - always wear shoes. House was dirty and dusty. Wore flip flops into the showers. Used our own sheets and towels , thank goodness. Location is great, house was filthy and won't stay there again.

A Quick Escape

We had a wonderful time here! The location is great. It's right next to the highway, but you can hardly hear the sound of the cars over the ocean! Speaking of, we could see the beach from the house, and it took us all of 30 seconds to walk there. There was hardly anyone on the beach. I will say that the place did not appear to have been cleaned very well. There was hair clogging the shower drain, and the showers were also quite dirty. They also had a used soap bar and half empty suave bottles for our convenience... hooray. The house itself was full of character! I felt like I was old light house keeper sleeping in a creaky old coastal house. I loved it! The Oregon Coast Aquarium is less than 30 minutes away, along with Ripley's Museum, which was entertaining. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

We have stayed here in the past and especially enjoyed the location. However, there are some major problems. Although the house appeared superficially clean, there were cobwebs everywhere. The sink in the community bathroom has rusted out and there wasn’t any hot water. The plumbing in the kitchen also had a major leak. The management company were responsive to our problems. We like rustic but I think the number of problems with the house over the years has started to outweigh the lovely location.

Rustic doesn’t mean dirty

Flooring is very nice. Completely unlevel home with doors that cannot latch is janky. Whole house smelled and felt musty…., that’s in late August when the coast has been dry. Towels left by housekeeping were not dry. Windows cannot open due to a house that has settled very uneven. Location and view is great. Unlevel house can’t be fixed but a thorough cleaning, functional windows and exterior siding that isn’t rotten would justify the price of the lodging.

Fantastic family beach vacation

If you are looking for a low key place with amazing beach access and views to enjoy your beach vacation, this is the place for you! It is not pristine or comparable to the Ritz, nor does it pretend to be, and it is priced appropriately to reflect it. We had a wonderful time for our 3 generation family vacation. We loved the miles upon miles of beautiful beaches; the freshwater creek - so water on two sides, perfect for littles; and easy access to the charming towns of Waldport and Yachats, with all the amenities of Newport 30 minutes to the north and of Florence 45 minutes to the south. Planning our next stay already.

Go for the view!

The view from the backyard can not be beat. We booked for the location alone. They did call it rustic and it is. Has the feel of a multi-generation family cabin. Missing a few things, like enough steak knives and dinner plates for 6, which management did not remedy. But they replaced the rusted BBQ promptly, which was appreciated. Hot tub was good first time, due to a slow leak posted we added more water the next morning but it was still not hot 12 hours later. Didn't bother addressing with management as we were checking out. Definitely more money than we'd normally spend on such basic accommodations. Still, had a fun family vacation.

House worked well for us and location was just right. Plates/glassware/silverware were clean and sufficient. Pots and pans were sufficient, but some were not very clean (roasting pan in particular, so we didn't use it. 1 frying pan was very warped). BBQ not usable - knobs won't turn, was not clean. Fireplace unsafe to use - chimney cracks (can see firebox from outside). Fan in hall bath does not work. Missing some tiles in same - is that related to where siding outside is missing/rotted?

Relaxation

We enjoyed having the private sandy beach access. We loved the Beautiful ocean views. The house definitely was not fancy and very unique. We knew that it was “rustic” and not updated from the other reviews we read. My husband and I had a very relaxing time. We enjoyed walking along the beach and sightseeing.

Just love this location! 5 minutes to Waldport and 5 minutes to Yachats. Right on the beach and feels very secluded. I will stay here again!

Beautiful Location

The location was great, very beautiful looking out at the creek going into the ocean with the sun shining into the house. The heated floors were amazing! There were tide pools nearby and you weren’t too far from the bigger town of Newport for groceries and the awesome aquarium. Only downsides, the walls need a good dusting 😄 and the outlets are a bit rough, our chargers were always falling out.

Beach House with Character

This house was quirky and warm. The floors are not level, there are little repairs that could be done, some extra cleaning could be done...but we love staying in it! We have stayed in more pristine homes all along the coast, but this one has so much personality. It made all of us smile! We were cozy and safe inside it's walls, while enjoying a lovely ever-changing view. I wouldn't change a thing in the end. It was our second visit to this home, and we hope to stay again someday. We are grateful that the owner shares their beach home with others.

It's all about Location

We were more than warned about the condition of the house: it is "extremely rustic" and needs a deep cleaning and fresh paint. However, all the "important parts" like the shower, toilets and main kitchen area were very clean. Beds were comfortable. There are some surprising updates: heated flooring, new flat screen t.v.'s, and spotless hottub. Disappointing were a total lack of spices (we donated salt and pepper from the grocery store) and noise from the highway. (Bring ear plusgs). The view and beach access are second to none. Despite its obvious age, the house was very cozy and free of drafts. Plus, the fireplace is a big plus!

Location Location Location!!!

We had the best time here and communication was superb! We would stay here again and again. The location is unreal, a hot tub overlooks the ocean, and it feels like you are staying in your family’s cabin. We booked this place when the Portland storm hit and they worked with us as we weren’t able to get out of the city for the first night. All the directions were easy to follow and the place was exactly as was described. Our dog loved this place and we hope to stay here again sometime in the summer!!

Awesome beach front property!

We had a BLAST at this property for my wife’s birthday with our teenagers and another couple. The property is right on the beach, secluded, has a nice clean hot tub, heated floors and a double shower! The washer & dryer were very new, smart TV worked like a charm and the beds were really comfortable. To top it off, we had a wood burning fire in the fireplace on cold nights, and an outdoor fire in the houses fire ring when it was nice. Loved it, will return for SURE! 10/10 Thank you!

Perfect location- questionably clean house

The house is old and funky. That in itself is fine. It just wasn’t clean. That’s not fun. If the house had a good deep cleaning and maybe a coat of paint, it would be lovely. We enjoyed the location. It’s right on the beach with access to the creek and shore. The hot tub was in good shape and everyone enjoyed that. We struggled to reach property manager for a couple of months before our stay. Overall, we will probably go back for the rate and location but wish it was cleaner!

Location for view and beach access could not be much better especially with a hot tub view. Rustic captain type house. If you want modern probably not for you but personally I love it.

So dirty!

The beach access is the one redeeming quality of this house. The hot tub does work too, and that's nice. Many broken features, including a kitchen drawer that will fall on your feet if you pull too far. Bathroom faucet handle broke in my daughter's hand. Bathrooms each feature double shower heads but only use one at a time! You only have enough hot water for a 5 minute shower from one head. Dirty pillowcases on the lumpy, loud bed. Sinking foundation makes it feel like you have vertigo. Fireplace is not properly sealed, likely from foundation problem, so heat sucks straight up chimney and not to the house. So, so dirty. Dust, cobwebs and legitimate filth everywhere you look. Bring some kind of sanitizer for every surface before you touch anything! There is seriously a dog treat hanging with the dust bunnies under the couch. We don't have a dog, or dog treats. This house needs a lot of work.
