Not quite as opulent as promised…….
Less than expected. Clean and comfortable but they gave us a handicapped room and it was laid out just terribly. Water on the rest of the bathroom floor bc the shower curtain in the accessible shower did not reach the floor. No hooks for towels. Few trash cans. Only one chair. No microwave—in this sense budget motels have the edge over The Churchill. They may have redefined opulence but I think they’re redefining it in the wrong direction. Staff were as responsive and courteous as I could ask and they should be commended.

Nice well equipped hotel with friendly attentive staff. The only issue is that the weather was chilly, and the hotel system is either A/C or heat for the entire building, and it was still set to A/C in October, so we were cold at night.

The Churchill is close to underground station and has good bus service as well. There are many restaurants in the area. And there's a nice loop walk we did from the hotel to Georgetown, part of which included a gravel path. Good location, well maintained older hotel with character, and a reasonable price. It exceeded my expectations.

The room and the hotel staff are great. The room was very spacious. There is only one problem: Since I booked via Expedia, I ended up paying more than expected due to unrevealed taxes and fees, especially the "Historical Restoration" fee. all blowing up the bill.
