This hotel is highly overrated. I relied on prior reviews. I shouldnt have. Do the people doing the reviews actually stay at the hotel? Stairs only lead down to the entrance, meaning you have to carry your luggage down steps. The room was old. Really old. The bathroom was worse than student accommodation and i was barely able to dry myself in it after the shower, as it was so small. The hotel had not yet turned on the heating (at the end of October!), so the rooms were cold. The towels were small and well worn. The bathroom was so, very small, and the shower had little water power. I would not recommend this hotel in to anyone, and even less so at the price of over $350 for this room. Ridiculous. I was really disappointed and appalled.

Great stay! Spacious room with kitchenette and living room. Love the Foggy Bottom neighborhood and proximity to GW. Easy to walk to restaurants, Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods and the metro. Brandie is always so welcoming and kind!

Love that the Property was in the center of everything ! Sites , grocery nearby , Friendly Staff , quiet , and I could get parking nearby for cheap ! They should remove the old rugs from the rooms ! Replace them with new rugs or take them out completely !

The River Inn was truly one of our best hotel stays. From the first greeting at the desk to our pleasant good-bye - The River Inn was fabulous. Everyone we interacted with was personable, friendly, helpful and it felt genuine! Our room was sumptuously comfortable and looked over the townhomes nearby - granting us a view of residential life and helping make this location feel cozy. The towels and bed linens were top notch and the loo products high end. We loved The River Inn. Ditto for the bar. Friendly barkeep, chatty patrons. We will be recommending The River Inn to our friends and family and will be returning as soon as we can. Bravo and well done folks.
