Property unavailable the fist night of our stay; had mold; host is uncommunicative
The house is in a great state of disrepair. Upon entering the living room, there is a fully broken floor lamp. The sofas are stained, especially the white one in the back room. The kitchen was dirty; there were coffee kcups in the almost bare cupboard that had mold and dirt on them. There were no utensils, not even silverware. There was a huge pile of trash outdoors, just outside of the kitchen side door. The trash can itself was overflowing, and there was at least 5 more trash cans worth of garbage piled next to it. There was mold in various places around the house, on ceilings and in bathrooms. Most notably, there was extensive mold in the closet, which we discovered at the end of our stay, as it rained and the roof leaked directly into the closet, making a puddle on the floor. A ceiling fan was loose and wobbly (like to the point of being unusable). The tv in the “second house” (which is where the third bedroom is, which the listing does not specify) is in disrepair, having a large line down the center. AC broke during our stay. There were no cleaning supplies for everyday tidying. Water damage. more.The host was largely non-communicative. Most notably, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO UTILIZE THE FIRST NIGHT OF OUR STAY. The key box was empty.VRBO was not of useful assistance; we were essentially left stranded for the night, which is why we went back to the property the next day (lack of alternate accommodation nearby) Still trying to resolve.
