Villa Avignon and Cottage is situated on a 1/2 acre well groomed lot at Jones Estate, Nevis. It is within walking distance of the Sea Taxi on the right and the Sea Bridge on the left. The Sea Taxi gets you to St Kitts in approx 5 to 6 minutes and, the Sea Bridge would transport you with your vehicle also to St Kitts within 25 minutes.
Villa Avignon's main house is over 4500 sq with 4 air conditioned bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The house is well designed and built for comfort. The pool is 14ft x 28ft. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped but, if one ever feels the need to dine out there are a number of good restaurants within close proximity some of which are located on beaches.
Avignon is approximately 300 meters from the island's Main Road which means there is very little sound from traffic. What you will enjoy is a continuous Northern breeze from the Atlantic that sweeps between 2 hills creating a tunnel effect also, the soothing sound of wind blowing through the palm trees at nights which is often mistaken for summer rain showers. You can enjoy good view of beautiful Nevis Peak while sipping a glass of coconut water from the back yard.
For recreation purpose, one of the most sought after beach on the island is located approx 10 mins walk from property.
On your way to Charlestown, approx 1.5 miles from Avignon, you will come upon the Historical site of Nelson Spring where Lord Nelson watered his fleet. Continuing that route, you will see the St Thomas' Anglican Church which is the oldest church in the Caribbean then, in Charlestown, you can visit the birth place of Alexander Hamilton at the Alexander Hamilton Museum. On the Southern end of Charlestown, approx 2 mins from the town center, you can visit the Hot Springs which is therapeutic and the
Bath Hotel adjacent to the springs is the 1st Hotel in the Caribbean. From there continuing along the island Main road, approx 3 miles the Historic St John's Fig Tree Church where the marriage Certificate of Lord Nelson and his Nevisian born wife Fanny Nisbett is held.
For hike lovers, one can explore the mountain, newly discovered water falls with a tour guide. Horse back riding can be arranged or visit the Nevis Pottery where items are moulded with local clay.
For lovers of fresh fruits and vegetables, the Charlestown market is open Mondays to Saturdays. Local farmers and vendors sell their produce in stalls along the island main road.
