My family and I have been coming to this area for over 20 years now. The ski resort itself is great for all levels of skiers and is consistently voted in the top 10 Ski resorts in the US by Ski Magazine. But Whitefish Mountain Resort is really an ALL season resort with an amazing lineup of family-friendly, outdoor summer fun which is what has kept us coming back season after season and year after year.

When the snow melts, the same chairlifts you see from your bed are your very own E ticket ride to a whole new mountain of experiences. Ranging from a scenic gondola to an aerial adventure park where you can “walk in the treetops” for hours. There is no shortage of fun on the mountain just because ski-season is over.

We are literally steps from Chair 3 at Whitefish Mountain Resort and less than a 5-minute walk to the resort Village restaurants and the famous Bierstube. Plus, the private deck offers a front row seat to the slopes, jumps and rails. The chairlifts are so close your friends can wave to you while they head up the mountain. With this rare combination of excellent slopeside location - you really can ski in and ski out as opposed to the usual “ski-in / schlep out” kind of place skiers in-the-know joke about.

Chalet #5 is on the 2nd floor and feels like a private residence from the minute you open the door.

The great room has a linear gas fireplace with a reclaimed live-edge mantle, a flat screen frameless television (that looks like a art when it’s not being used), and a built-in wine bar for entertaining.

The fireplace creates the perfect “slow down and relax” vibe whether you are watching Netflix, lingering around the table, or sipping wine and catching up.

The kitchen and dining room are all part of the main living space too, so it’s easy to spend quality time enjoying each other's company even if you aren’t all doing the same thing. The kitchen is seriously well-stocked with great things for cooking, grilling and entertaining. You certainly don’t have to cook while you are in Whitefish because it’s such a foodie town, but if you feel inspired - you are all set at our place!

Just off the kitchen you will find the private deck. The grill, outdoor table, and hot tub are some of our favorite places to hang out every time we visit. In the winter we even wave at each other from the chairlift on our way up the slope in between runs. Chalet #5 is super convenient for grabbing a quick snack, taking a break etc. so your ski days don’t have to feel like marathons.

And of course after a day on the slopes or adventuring on the mountain or in downtown Whitefish - the hot tub is an amazing place to take in the stars and share stories. We have robes and hooks on the deck to really perfect your spa experience.

The two main bedrooms in our place are nicely separated and we can comfortably sleep 8. All beds have gel memory foam mattresses, high thread count sheets and duvet covers, a 700-fill power White Hungarian Goose Down comforter, and an electronic mattress warmer to preheat your bed 30 minutes before you slip under the covers. Many of our guests have told us that sleeping at our place was one of the comfiest night's sleep they've ever had.

The Master bedroom is a king and has a view of the mountain slope and a detached full spa bath off the living room.

The 2nd king bedroom has a view of the mountain and slopes as well. This bedroom is part of our family suite on the opposite side of the chalet. It’s a great choice for families or for the kids, featuring a king bed and a set of queen bunk beds off a shared open hallway.

The built-in bunks have reading lights and charging stations for your phone or tablet. The top bunk is definitely not the short straw at our place either - in fact the fiber optic ceiling will have everyone fighting for their chance to sleep under the stars.

The family suite has an ensuite bath with dual sinks, large walk-in shower, plenty of spa towels and robes. The whole family suite including the bathroom can be closed off with a door to the living room.
