The staff was very nice and professional. This hotel is also well located for business travel to Wilmington. But the facilities are in poor repair and surprising for a DoubleTree. There was one working elevator and it worked quite poorly. The lobby was shabby. There was a business center advertised but there is actually no business center. The room was adequate. This hotel needs a substantial renovation and it is currently a substandard business hotel. We will not repeat this hotel in our trips to Wilmington.

Comforter between top sheet and bed sheet was filthy and stained. We removed it, just slept with sheet. If we turned heat on it smelled so not an option. Killed bug in bathroom. Overall disappointing.

Phone in room was broken so had to go down to lobby three times to report that Engineering never showed up to fix broken A/C in the room. Was never fixed my entire stay. Not acceptable service from my perspective.

Hotel is very old. The elevator was very slow and we got stuck betwen floors for a few miniutes. Staff was nice. A fire alarm went off at 430am. We had to evacuate the building for 10mn. Not many options in this city.

The Doubletree should be ashamed of the condition of the room, 605. It was filthy, needs a new toilet, the bathroom needs to be totally cleaned and repainted. I’m thankful I had cleaning wipes with me!

Apparently there was only one employee when arrived (around 6:00 pm). I waited at the desk for almost 29 minutes before anyone came to check me in. That was only after someone in line walked around the hotel and eventually found the employee in the kitchen. He was nice, but seemed unsure of how to handle that I had paid for parking already through hotels.com. The room was fine, but the intial experience put a negative spin on the stay.
