Lovely guest house, unfortunately the room above us has squeak floors and they were very early risers so from 6am we could hear them walking about. Very nice breakfast staff very helpful and friendly. We would stay again but ask not to be in room 16.

Perfect location, ample parking, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room bright and airy, with extras like iron/ironing board, Fan. The only down side was the shower room, which was dated and could have benefitted with some minor repairs, a better sitting area outside would have been a plus to the property. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay
Lovely shared lounge areas, with games, books tv and a piano. A little bar which closes at 10pm. Lovely hotel and great location, busstop 2 mins away , which runs to all areas. Train station at top of road. Room has everything you need for your stay and daily maid service. Parking at front and back of property

Room was at front of hotel small and really warm and noisy traffic so had to close windows at night which made room even warmer. Very noisy hotel with doors banging and creaky floor boards walls really thin could hear people in next rooms talking and tv on and having intimate time beds really squeaky.I am not a prune but do not want to be listening to that above me so would not stay at this hotel again even if it was free. Breakfast first morning I had my cereal and milk was off had to ask for new milk but did not brink me new bowl had to lift one from other table just as I was going to eat it they brought my full cooked breakfast and could see I was just about to eat cereal and they still squeezed my plate at the side of me and walked away really rude . Had to ask for toast and then butter they lifted it from other table so when they sat down they would have no butter really hectic just so rushed to get you in and out . Staff were polite enough but seemed all over the place . Clearly not 4 star more like 2 would not stay again .

We absolutely loved the property! The staff was amazing! The very best thing of the whole stay was a beautiful full English breakfast every morning. It was in a beautiful dining room, the weight staff was quick and very efficient. The food was amazing and very hot. Everything was included in the price. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Short break for B&B
We’ve stayed in a fair few B&Bs now and always compare and contrast. Plus points here was the comfort of the room, higher end toiletries and regularly replenished biscuits. The breakfast also was tasty and a good variety of choice. Gluten free accommodated. The location is also convenient for the station and Bowness, with parking plentiful. The downsides for me was the shower was quite small and weak, and sadly the place felt slightly impersonal as there was no obvious owner to meet at reception, and breakfast is staffed by several different people. Sadly on one day we waited half an hour for our breakfast to arrive. Decent place for the price though

Floorboarding & water torture - risk all on you.
The room I stayed in had a severe creaking floorboard problem above, I asked to change rooms & was told I couldn't. Got very little sleep as guests above moving much of the night, ruined the next day. Also the sink in the tiny bathroom was blocked. Reported the disturbance issue to reception staff in the morning, had to start again with assistant manager, who said they'd contact me with a resolution. I received nothing after after a week, wrote to their general email address, and got a polite but farcical response from the manager who said they knew of the problem but couldn't anything about it - either physically (i.e. don't want to pay for remediation) or via compensation to the customer. Nor do they want to advertise the defect & affected rooms at a lower price. Manager seems to think the character of the place is more important than guests' sleep or health and even had audacity to state that the price I paid (~£100) was very reasonable given the breakfast & parking. Would be better to sleep in a bush for the same price, and I stayed in a much better hotel on the same trip for a lot less. Some guests may get a good experience at this hotel if they don't get put in the hull of a pirate ship going through a storm... however you don't need to take that risk at this price point.
