The Little Hideaway is a romantic, magical and secluded cottage, nestled amongst trees in a private country estate, making it the perfect peaceful getaway. This charming and newly finished two storey property sits on twelve acres of private land and lies directly opposite the magnificent Windsor Great Park. On the approach to the Little Hideaway upon entering the estate, you will have amazing views across to Windsor Castle, that you can enjoy throughout your stay.

The Little Hideaway is a secluded retreat in a tranquil corner of the countryside, here, you can take time to rest and relax if that's what you'd like, enjoy spending time in nature in the local deer park, or enjoy the hustle and bustle of the local riverside town of Windsor. The cottage is nestled between an old oak tree and the Little Dower House a Private wedding venue where the owners Susie and Hamish live.
The Little Hideaway will have every ammenity you need and extra touches of love for you to enjoy. In the hallway, you will find a cupboard for your coats, a boot box for your wellies, and separate cupboards housing a washing machine, a tumble dryer and more.
The shower room boasts a powerful double shower with two shower heads. Both heads have different pressure gages to enjoy a rainforest feel, as well as a heated towel rail.
Upstairs takes you to the sitting room, where you can find our Smart TV, providing you with endless entertainment from Sky TV, Netflix for free and more. Here you can also enjoy the decorative candlelit fireplace that sits adjacent to the all encompassing Super King sized bed. with a small double sofa bed opposite. Upstairs is also the open plan bedroom.
Here, there are other seating areas, a very comfortable sofa, an armchair and coffee table, cupboards for clothes and storage.
At the end of the room is a super kingsize bed (which separates into twin beds), a chest of drawers, a pretty window seat and a little door that leads onto a flower filled balcony with a candle lit table and chairs, a great place for you to sit in the morning sunshine or evening drinks.
The Hideaway is only 5 minutes away from the Bishops Gate entrance into the Great Park where you can walk forever, bike ride, horse ride, or just sit by one of the enormous lakes and lap up some of the stunning views.
Take a walk in the famous Valley or Savill Gardens, watch a few chukkas being played at Guards Polo ground, or take a ride on one of our own retired polo ponies instead, by prior arrangement.
The pretty town of Windsor is 5 minutes away, offering English pubs, restaurants, café, and boutiques. There is a traditional English pub only 5 minutes away.
The Little Hideaway is only a 2 minute walk up the driveway from the Gatehouse Cottage, a three double bedroom quitessentially English period Victorian lodge, that is also available to rent on the estate.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 11 guests.
For larger groups the Victorian Lodge can also be made available. It is situated on the grounds at the entrance to the driveway, and is a quintessentially English Country Cottage that sleeps up to 7.
We can also provide Four road bicycles for free ( upon request ) for as long as you like. explore the beautiful local area, cycle through the 4000 acre Windsor Great Park on the road trails through the heart of it, or explore the surrounding towns by country road

Guests have their own private lockable entrance to the property.
Guests staying at the Little Hideaway will have access to all the lovely gardens here at Little Dower House, (our web site is littledowerhouse com) which is our home and which we make available in the summer months as an exclusive venue for weddings. It has everything you should need. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker, microwave, and dishwasher, a dining area that seats four, and a cold room / larder with a large fridge freezer.
The Hallway has a cupboard for your coats, a boot box for your Wellies, and separate cupboards housing a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
The Shower Room has a strong shower with two heads, one large fixed rose and a separate hand held. There is also a basin, a loo and nice heated towel rail.
A candlelit fireplace which is decorative sits in the middle of the room, with a small double sofa bed opposite. An extra fold out bed can be provided by prior arrangement.
This wonderfully cosy and calm studio is situated within the pretty gardens of Little Dower House, which are private but can be viewed on request. There is the magnificent Windsor Great Park right opposite which has endless beautiful walks throughout, and places to picnic and watch the world go by. Take a walk in the famous Valley or Savill Gardens, or watch a few chukkas being played at Guards Polo ground.
There is private parking, polo ponies in the field opposite, great walks, great pubs minutes away, the beautiful town of Windsor with it's Castle, Thorpe Park and Legoland just nearby, and central London only 35 minutes away by train, and Heathrow airport 20 minutes away by car.
The area is great for couples, country lovers, townies, food lovers, gardeners, riders, polo players, golfers and walkers too.
There is a traditional English pub only 5 minutes away, The Fox and Hounds in Englefield Green , situated by the Bishops Gate entrance into the Great Park , serving simply wonderful light bites, great pub food and smart restaurant food. It's the perfect place, and great for lunch, dinner, a snack or a BBQ, and a well earned rest after a walk in the Park.
Two minutes away on Crimp Hill is the recently opened Oxford Blue restaurant, with a Chef who trained under Gordon Ramsey. In Old Windsor there is a very cheery Italian and pizza restaurant which is perfect for families, and a Co-Op shop that is open all day every day. In the local village Englefield Green there is the Barlow Mow Brasserie, the Bailey Wick pub, a great Indian restaurant Megna Tandoori and a nice Italian restaurant Caspari.
