Excellent stay! I took my partner for our engagement and it was so special. The staff were so important in ensuring our night was completely perfect. They upgraded our room with one with a balcony! Whilst going out of there way to decorate our room with complimentary champagne and chocolate treats, for our return back to the room after our evening meal in the fabulous leven restaurant! Very much a Ghosts of Motley Hall hotel. I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to my room yet the hotel seemed to have very few guests - not sure what that was all about. The staff do try their best but the place seems to be run by management from an Agatha Christie novel. My room had such a tiny bathroom too.

Disappointing stay
The hotel staff were very friendly. We were given a classic room and discovered that the wash hand basin was severely cracked. We reported this immediately and were told a new one was on order,no offer of a room change despite the hotel being very quiet.We feel that as a 4 star hotel,guests should not be placed in a room that has a damaged hand basin.It was a disappointing stay.
