58 Marygate, York (kuvassa vasemmalla oleva valkoinen mökki) on 300-vuotias mökki, joka on hiljattain remontoitu kokonaan korkeatasoiseksi, samalla kun se säilyttää alkuperäiset kauden ominaisuudet ja viehätysvoiman.
Se tarjoaa upeat näkymät talon edestä museopuutarhan ja St Olaves -kirkon sisäänkäynnin yli.
Marygate on kiehtova, viehättävä katu Yorkin keskustassa, se ei ole liian kiireinen, joten on hiljaista yöllä. Sen sijainti tekee siitä ihanteellisen tukikohdan kaikista Yorkin monista nähtävyyksistä, jotka kaikki ovat helpon kävelymatkan päässä, Minster 5 minuutin kävelymatka, tärkeimmät ostosalueet 5 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä Museum Gardensista.

Makuuhuoneissa on laadukkaat vuoteet ja pehmeät, huippulaatuiset puuvillavaatteet. Makuuhuoneessa on king-size-vuode ja kylpyhuone, josta on upeat näkymät talon edessä. Talon edessä on myös makuuhuone 2, jossa taas king-size-vuode, josta on upeat näkymät edestä. Talon takana on parisänky, jossa on 2 erillistä vuodetta ja hieno näkymä alas Marygate Laneen. Kaikissa 3 yläkerran makuuhuoneissa on taulutelevisio. Alakerrassa on neljäs makuuhuone, jossa kerrossänky sopii aikuisille tai lapsille. Ulkopuolella on pieni piha-alue, jossa on patiohuonekalut. Siellä on myös nopea WIFI-yhteys.

Marygagen takana on suuri 24 h turvallinen pysäköintialue (1 minuutin kävelymatka), jos varaat sen etukäteen verkossa sellaisen yrityksen kanssa kuin "oma pysäköintitilasi", voit pysäköidä jopa 5/6 puntaa päivässä.

Meillä on myös syöttötuoli ja taitettava lastensänky mökissä vieraillemme vauvojen kanssa.

Museon puutarhassa on erinomainen Star Inn The City -ravintola, vastapäätä taloa 2 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä. Myös arvostettu Roots -ravintola on vain 4 ovea alas Marygate. Loput Yorksin ravintolat ovat vain Museum Gardensin läpi 5-10 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä. Itse Marygatessa on kaksi pubia ja Marynsen yläosassa oleva Sainsburys-pubi 3 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä. Ouse-joki on Marygaten alaosassa minuutin kävelymatkan päässä.

Valitettavasti emme voi hyväksyä varauksia polttarien tai kanojen viikonloppuisin, koska kiinteistö on rauhallisella asuinalueella.

Tämä mökki sijaitsee vain lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä kohteesta Yorkin tuomiokirkko. Majoituspaikka tarjoaa asiakkailleen esimerkiksi pyykinpesutilat. Mökissä tarjoaa asiakkaille ilmaisen Wi-Fi-yhteyden ja keittiön.

No better place to stay!

We stayed in Louise’s beautiful property while in York. We were members of a family ranging from 17-83. There was ample space for recreating, sleeping, eating in comfort, and the house was immaculate and cozy. Located across the quiet street from Museum gardens and a medieval church, a short walk from the riven Ouse, the setting was idylic.

Girls trip to York

We had a fantastic stay in Louise's gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated, luxury bedding, comfy beds and just 5 mins from centre of York. Check in was easy and Louise allowed us a later checkout which tied in nicely with our train home. We have all agreed that we would love to come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage to others coming to York.

Family of 8 over Easter Weekend

Absolutely lovely property, perfect location(close enough to everything but still quiet, low traffic). We visited from the US, traveling from Newcastle by rail- a short walk to and from the station. The cottage is in perfect condition and accommodated our family ranging from 4 to 75... grocery store up the end of the street allowed us to prepare meals at home and visit sites around York at our leisure. We could not be more happy with the experience!

We recently stayed at 58 Marygate for 3 nights. We were a group of 6 ladies whose ages ranged from 42 years- 72 years. The house can sleep up to 8, however we felt this would have been a squeeze in the living areas if there were 8 adults, (would be fine with small children however). The location is perfect! We walked into the centre of York in less than 10 minutes, and there is a lovely pub on Marygate which has a fabulous atmosphere so this quickly became’our local’ during our stay. There is also a Sainsbury’s local at the top of Marygate which was handy. Our only slight niggle was the main bathroom was very cold, and could really benefit from an extra heat source in there. We also struggled to override the programmed temperature and set times for the central heating, but we could have quite easily contacted the host to rectify this but we chose not too. Both twin rooms lacked robes, and as we found the house became quite cold in the evenings, these would have been handy for all of our group to use, but there are plenty of blankets provided so utilised those instead. We really loved our stay here, and will definitely stay here again in the future.

Weekly stay at Marygate Cottage

We love it at 58 Marygate. It is a perfect base in York. Louise is an exceptional host where nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is exceptionally clean and tidy. We are a family of six and there is plenty of room. This is the second time we have stayed and should we choose to stay in York again, this cottage will again be considered for our holiday.

Beautiful home and wonderful location

This home was the perfect spot for our visit to York. The Minster and Shambles were easy walks through the beautiful Museum Gardens and the Abbey ruins were just across the street. Shops were just up the block including a Sainsburys which was very handy to have close by. The home is quite charming with a well equipped kitchen and a nice sitting room where we could all gather in the evening.

Wow! Location!

Property was great, but the location was the show stopper. We loved the beautiful view and the close proximity to the museum gardens. Easy walk to the train station and lovely trek through the gardens to all of the shops, eateries, and attractions. Wonderful hostess and good communication.

Beautiful cottage close to everything

What a gorgeous place to stay in York. A short walk across the park brings you right to the heart of the city. The cottage is extremely comfortable with modern amenities alongside lots of original features. We really enjoyed meeting up with family here. Thanks Louise!

Our host was always helpful with queries, was quick with responses and left a good range of basic supplies. The location was exceptional - close to the central parts of York, near the river. Accommodations were of very good quality and added touches were thoughtful and greatly appreciated. Overall, our impressions were very positive indeed. A comfortable and high quality rental!

Location, Location, Location

Our daughters wedding and reception venue was The Hospitium in the Museum Gardens. We could not have picked a better location - literally at the gates of the venue. There is also amazing access to the train station via a pedestrian bridge over the river if arriving by train. The cottage itself is incredibly updated while still retaining its old world charm. Comfy beds. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. The cottage ialso provides easy access to the city center .

This was a perfect place to stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location, comfortable set up. It is a bit awkward to get to the back patio and trash through a bedroom, but we worked that out. Nicely stocked with essentials, and a lovely gift basket upon arrival. We were all completely pleased with this property. The hostess was very responsive to all queries. Top rate!
